Sentence-1[edit]

The critical temperature of a material is the temperature above which unique liquid and gas phases do not exist.

Sentence-2[edit]

As the critical temperature is approached, the properties of the gas and liquid phases become the same.

Sentence-3[edit]

Above the critical temperature, there is only one phase.

Are not the sentence-1 & 3 contradicting?
