Talk:Spoken greeting

While the use of "verbal" to mean "spoken" is a fact in modern English (in U.S. at least), the usage is ambiguous since the word can also be used in its traditional and continuing sense of "consisting of words". (To see its survival, note that "non-verbal communication" is intended to exclude both speech and writing, and to be limited to gestures, grunts, posture, eye contact, etc.)

I'm renaming Greeting (verbal) to Spoken greeting to eliminate ambiguity and avoid unnecessary parens. --Jerzy(t) 06:07, 2004 Aug 10 (UTC)

Just for clarification, do you intend a second page for written greetings to complement the spoken one, and what differences between spoken and written greetings do you see as important enough to warrant the separate pages ? Ta. - TB 08:05, Aug 10, 2004 (UTC)
