Thanks. Favor: Can you please move the page to the right title?

Thanks for the comments on the article. A small favor: I accidentally titled it with a lower-case on the second word, "Black seminoles," instead of "Black Seminoles," and find that being new, I don't have permissions to change the title by doing a move. Is this something you or another admin can do? I put a note on the request a move page and on the Black seminoles talk page. Thanks for any help you can offer. My RFA

Thank you for your comments on my RFA. Although the voting period just ended with a 14-8-2 vote, I will admit once and for all that I used it more as an evaluation of myself. Being promoted would have been a plus. I was more interested in who voted, when they voted, who would change their votes and when, and the comments I would receive. Hopefully I will correct the main weakness that was raised by those who voted oppose -- that I was too eager to put articles on VFD. Also, I will try to interact more with those Wikipedians who did not vote at all.

As for next month, I don't know if I will nominate myself again. I might not think about it until somebody else puts me up there on RFA at a later date. Eventually, I see myself as an admin, especially as the number of articles and users continues to grow. Thanks again and good luck at improving this vast archive of free knowledge. Thanks for the welcome. You are the first wikipedian to contact me. For someone who is on vacation you were quick to do what I didn't know how to do and redirected the page that I noted for change. Yesterday I made a change to a page and the whole page disappeared. Today I noticed that when I used Mozilla Firefox the page appeared empty when I wanted to edit something so I changed to MS Internet Explorer and was able to make the edit. Has anyone else reported problems with Firefox? Kember 12:04, 7 May 2005 (UTC)

Question

I have noticed that "missle", an incorrect spelling of "missile", is used on a large number of Wikipedia pages. Before I slog through them all to correct it, is there an easy global find-and-replace command I could use to fix all of them at once? How about one that an admin could do? Unlike other spelling issues, there is no context in which "missle" is correct, so there would be no fear of problems from taking such as step.

If there is no such capability, where could I go to suggest one? Obviously the potential for abuse is high, so perhaps it should be restricted to admins.

Visualization / knowledge map

Hi,

Is there any way to visualize the knowledge captured in wikipedia? I'm looking for something like a concept map in which the links between the different Wikipedia pages are illustrated. Is the search-bar the only way to consciously access information? Wouldn't it be nice to sort of browse through a knowledge map? I sincerally hope you can give me some information on this.

You deleted this article despite the fact that I had removed the speedy tag that was on it with this explanation in the edit summary: "rmv speedy: created today and flagged by the author as a placeholder: lets give it time to develop." Copyright Violations

It's nice to know you; I received a "Welcome Message" from Mr. Kingturtle in June 3th. I wrote the following message in his talk page, but he takes his "Summer Vacation" until mid-August. I found a "copyright violation" long time ago, that is, a German tennis player Tommy Haas. The First Edition includes copyright violation from ATP Official site, but someone added {{cleanup}}, not {{copyvio|url=http://www.atptennis.com/en/players/playerprofiles/Highlights/default.asp?playernumber=H355}}. I noticed it in January 2005, but I wasn't accustomed to Wikipedia Project then. I didn't know what {{cleanup}} meant. After 9 revision histories, This Edition removed copied sentences. What shall we do in this case? We can't leave such problematic histories, the previous nine. (I desperately searched for an administrator.) --Hhst 14:44, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I was wondering if you could reply to my VfD comments in reply to your vote, either inline at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/LSOL.com or on my talk page. I'm just trying to get my head around the reasons for the LSOL.com deletion. I have been taking on certain VfDed pages and trying to save them by re-writing. If I better understand the criteria for deletion, then I can select my battles more effectively.

Hey Utcursch, I just noticed that you removed the content I added yesterday to OP_Nayyar's wiki as copyright violation. I am a newbie to Wikipedia and was not aware that if a website does not mention anything about copyrights, then the default case is that it is copyrighted. I used to think it was non-copyrighted by default. Am impressed at your swift work though, hats off to you.

Also I have added similar biographies to Kadri_Gopalnath, Nadaka, and Hariharan which may possibly violate copyrights, you may want to review them for copyright violations. Thanks. --Rfc9000

User:Happytime

Hi,

You wrote on my talk page about a revert war going on in Hindi language and Urdu language. I am pretty sure that User:Happytime is User:Thetruth and a few anonymous IPs. In the past I've had to have pages protected because of his childish edits. Just take a look at this [1]. If you have a look at the contribution history of Happytime and the truth you will see (especially with the truth) how me and others have tried to create a dialogue but the user is only there to make ridiculous edits.

Regarding Sindhi people

Hey Utcursch, some guy decided to make two articles about Sindhis with one that makes absolutely no sense other than as a revision of reality (Sindhis are a sub-caste of Hindus, as in all of them?!) so I reverted the Sindhis article back and I think the Sindhi people article needs to be deleted. Seriously, any encyclopedia will back up what's in the Sindhis article as it is now, rather than the bizarre replacement. Can you help me out? Thanks and adios.
