External Links to Personal Blogs[edit]

I don't feel that it is relevant to publish links to selected user blogs. Agree? Disagree? I'am planning to replace them with blogs of Microsoft employees involved in creating MSN Spaces. -- The Consigliere Friday, May, 13, 2005 - 00:46:54 (UTC)

Not a good idea. • Thorpe • 13:23, 14 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thorpe, you don't see any conflict of interest in that vote? :) The Consigliere 12:37, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Critisism?[edit]

The article doesn't mention that MSN Spaces has been critisised because of censorship, I don't know enough about it but it should be mentioned in the article. -- Joolz 18:54, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Anyone got an MSN Space?[edit]

I have one - anyone else have their own blog from MSN Spaces? • Thorpe • 13:22, 14 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Personal blogs removed[edit]

I have decided to remove personal blogs from the External links. You can now add them to this page.

If you disagree with me doing this please leave a message on my talk page.

Thanks, • Thorpe • 19:25, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit]

Hmm, the part about it's logo and ubantu seems like original research to me, backed up but a single blog post.... WhiteNight T | @ | C 01:57, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed it; very true. Kilo-Lima|(talk) 17:30, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The search ability of MSN Space[edit]

One interesting thing is, MSN Space content is not easily searched by Google. I don't know why.

Terms & Conditions Criticism[edit]

I think the information about the criticism of the MSN Spaces terms and conditions should be removed as it's no different to the terms and conditions of some other similar services.

e.g.

MySpace

By displaying or publishing ("posting") any Content, messages, text, files, images, photos, video, sounds, profiles, works of authorship, or any other materials (collectively, "Content") on or through the Services, you hereby grant to MySpace.com, a non-exclusive, fully-paid and royalty-free, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense through unlimited levels of sublicensees) to use, copy, modify, adapt, translate, publicly perform, publicly display, store, reproduce, transmit, and distribute such Content on and through the Services.

Bebo

By submitting, posting or displaying any Materials on or through the Bebo Service, you automatically grant to Bebo a worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicenseable, transferable, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right to copy, distribute, create derivative works of, publicly perform and display such Materials

MSN Messenger comment[edit]

I believe the sentence in bold should be removed from the article as it cannot be verified:

MSN Spaces is one of the fastest growing blogging communities in the world with an estimated 100 million (100,000,000) blogs as of May 2006. This is partly due to it being integrated with MSN Messenger.

We can assume it to be true, but we cannot prove it to be fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wideawakewesley (talkcontribs) 11:31 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Criticisms[edit]

  • MSN Spaces has also been criticized from people for supposedly deriving its "MSN Spaces" brand name from the popular blogging/social networking website Myspace.com. There has been no information whether if the "MSN Spaces" brand name was derived from Myspace.com.
    • The inclusion of a link to that blog is pointless; the blog simply notes the similarity but does not "criticize" Microsoft for it; further, the discussion in the blog itself (and links) notes other similarities with the Ubuntu logo. This simply cannot be criticism.
      • Perhaps trivia then...?
  • As with other blogging services MSN Spaces experiences attacks from spammers and troublesome users. Common examples of this including adding multiple comments (flooding), spam (in comments and through TrackBacks) and threatening messages.
    • And this is hardly "criticism". Wikipedia also "experiences attacks from spammers and troublesome users" but Criticism of Wikipedia lays that squarely at the feet of the perpetrators. Yay double standards.
