The Halo CE Chronicles[edit]

I guess drat is fairly appropriate for how I feel. I assumed I would have more time than this to work out the details of the show, but unfortunately life got a little in the way of my speedy editing plans. In all fairness I did mark it as a stub. I still feel it would be important to the Machinima project to add a good example of a drama oriented Halo-based series to offset Red vs Blue a little bit. Perhaps in the future I will come back with more research done beforehand. Ccs4ever 18:22, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Machiniminima[edit]

Hi, I was just reading the Wikipedia thing about Quake Movies/Machinima, and noticed you mention that Psyk's Popcorn Jungle has been offline for ages and that Psyk's email and contact details have disappeared. I thought I'd send you a message because, well... I'm Psyk. No, really.

I was Googling the PPJ to see if it was still around in places and came across this Wikipedia entry. To set your mind at ease, yes, I DO still have all the old pages backed up - but they're on an old hard drive and I'll have to get around to copying them off and uploading them. I have a permanent address now at http://www.tv13.co.uk and believe it or not I've done a few movie-related things since the QMovies - you can even see a pic of me on that site. (my real name is Paul - ooh, trade secret!!)

I actually still care a lot about the old QMovies (and your assessment that "Psyk blamed it on the rise of Machinima.com" is pretty accurate (I was a right bastard in those days online, but I've mellowed with age =) and if you want me to help in any way with your 'Wikiproject' thing I'd be delighted. If I do say so myself I think I'm the man best qualified to do this anyway - I did make the Encyclopaedia Machinima after all...

If you need to contact me (I'm not a Wikipedia registered user, though I read the site every day) my email address is XXXXXXXX. Very nice to find somebody who remembers me (sniff...) and I'd love to make a return to the Internet: after all it's Quake's 10th Anniversary! I had some ideas for DVDs of QMovies, including a Definitive Edition of Dantooine Five-O... hmm...

Thanks for reading (unless you tl;dr'd me) and RSVP.

Psyk/Paul ps. I really am Psyk, you know. I could prove it, but I won't. pps. You mentioned my review of The Seal of Nehahra. God I love that film. Now THAT deserves a DVD box set... ppps. I just removed my email address because I thought this was a private message!! Now I'm trying to become a member but it doesn't seem to work...

Psyk again[edit]

I've got an account, just so you know, so you can reply on my talk page thing.

Thanks, Psyklax

RvB & Strangerhood[edit]

It's good to be back...

Red vs Blue - hmm. I think I reviewed that one (though I think they've done loads of them now haven't they?) but I remember the review I did of the first one not being very highly praised. I didn't like Tritin Films' stuff, and that was one of them. Quad God was the only one I really though was good, the rest I didn't like much. I'm trying to navigate the internet archive copy of my site for the review...

Strangerhood - I'll be honest, I've never heard of it. =] You must remember that Machinima.com began in January 2000 (I think) and I was at the IRC launch thing (I think it was for machinima.com anyhow). I did almost no reviewing after that, so anything later than that I won't have seen. I haven't viewed Machinima.com properly since then, 6 years later. I'd become disillusioned with this new 'machinima' thing, as it wasn't really why I got into QMovies in the first place. Last film I think I reviewed was Seal of Nehahra, which I thought was a fitting end, as it was far and away the best QMovie I'd ever seen.

This damn 'Wayback Machine' thing doesn't work properly. I'll seek out the PPJ files at the weekend, but any upcoming updates on the project will have to be on hold for me right now, as I'm going on holiday in the USA next Tuesday. So, bear with me. If I can find all the PPJ files intact on an old hard drive of mine (it was a verrry long time ago) then I'll be pleased. I have aspirations to be a proper movie reviewer, actually, so a couple of hundred reviews of QMovies might be useful. Plus interviews.

I only have net access at my workplace at the mo, which makes keeping up with 'machinima' difficult, but I'll try to do some updates on the project.

Thanks, Psyklax ps. Ah, I found the Devil's Covenant Anorak Page on the Wayback Machine. Happy days...

Thanks for the recap[edit]

I've got a lot of catching up to do - five years is a long time on teh internets. I noticed that RGB2 wants an article, so I've written a stub to go in place for now. I might expand on it once I can get the necessary materials (this weekend). I'm working on other articles too - the Rangers, Blahbalicious, the Rangers' other films... Is it okay if I work away at articles on as many early films as I can, and stick them on Wikipedia? I don't know how the system works with marking them up on the Project page etc, so I might need a hand with that, but if you have any queries about Machinima 1996-2001, I'm your man. I also plan on working on the 'years in machinima' articles, as it's been marked on the 'to do' list. I might be the only member of the team with first-hand experience of the years I just mentioned, so I'll get to work on them soon. Re your message, I knew the Ill Clan would go on to good things, they have a lot of talent. Apartment Huntin' was a riot when I first saw it, and Hardly Workin' took a long time but was worth the wait - got them noticed I think too. Hey, I'm visiting New York, maybe I could meet the gang? That would be very helpful. Must get in touch with Paul Marino et al! Keep up the good work! --Psyklax 12:18, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just so I know, what's the deal with screenshots? The Diary of a Camper page has this 'fair use' business, so are my screenshots from the PPJ fine to use? I don't know about copyright etc, but I took them so that part's okay. I'll do a major update of the articles about films that we need at the weekend. --Psyklax 13:50, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re stubs[edit]

I'm wondering if all the articles I'm writing really deserve the 'stub' tag. Torn Apart (film) for example I only did because I did the URF article and thought I'd do all their films. I can't see how there's much more that can be said about it. Stubs are a bit subjective I think. I've just finished a quite detailed article on Operation Bayshield, so not sure if stub is right. I'll put them all as stubs when I create them I think, but decision must be made on whether there isn't any more to say. --Psyklax 10:39, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Boxart[edit]

Ok thanks, I've been trying to find some better , clearer boxart as alot of these SNES games have very very low resolution pics and are barely legible. I've been using 225px for the size within the infobox but I will start using your recommended size from here on in. Glad to know people are always checking recent edits :)

tasmania map[edit]

I don't have a wikipedia account, but I've been looking for over 5 years for a map of tasmania with council boundaries. The one you uploaded is good, but I'd like a larger version, or a way to make my own. Could you please email me at romeoskiss4u@msn.com ?

Dantooine Five-O[edit]

Are you familiar with a Quake movie called Dantooine Five-O? Review here: http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~tv13rfc/ppj/oldppj/quake/df1.html (by me). It's a movie made by me and my pals. Now, reason I ask is that I don't know of the validity of me writing an article on it, being as it's my film, because a) a lot of truthful information I write could be seen as original research, b) doing an article on my own film could be frowned upon in itself, and could be seen as violating NPOV even if I try to stick to the facts, and c) validifying it tricky, relating to the first point. What's your take on it? It's debatable how important DF is to machinima history, but if you asked those in the know what the ten most notable QMovies were, DF would probably be in there somewhere, so I feel that it deserves some recognition. I would try to be as professional as possible, but, obviously, it may not help. Your verdict? --Psyklax 07:34, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Siegler[edit]

Hey, saw you reverted the attack on my page. I actually did moderate for Fidonet, but that bit about "Fidonet Central" was crap, I was never asked to resign. Some of the folks who disliked my moderation tactics dubbed me Hitler, it looks like one of them found my page on Wikipedia.

Funny they still go on about shit like that though, it's been over 15 years since I did that.

Dopefish

Siegler's in denial. Ask around, the truth will come out. Read the Fidonews articles that were referred to you. Siegler is far from bein a saint.

And, by the way, I am a genius!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.163.44.206 (talkcontribs) .

Again, I was never asked to resign. This is a complete fabrication. The fact I moderated Fidonet is not in dispute, but the Hitler nonsense is uncalled for, and the bit about Fidonet central, and forcing me to resign absolutely and totally DID NOT HAPPEN. Period. There is no way to twist it with repeated vandalism, it flat out did not happen.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dopefish (talkcontribs) .

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ann.jpg)[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Ann.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 15:00, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you revert my edits?[edit]

My edits linking to Laughterlog.com are relevant information which is not contained in Wikipedia. It is not advertising. Kindly put them all back.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.239.197.167 (talkcontribs) .

Since you have elected yourself to be the leader of Wikipedia you'd better go through and delete all the links to IMDB as well. We wouldn't want anyone linking there on your watch.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.239.197.167 (talkcontribs) .

I would like to complain about you[edit]

Hello Drat.

This is an official complaint about you deleting the links to http://www.laughterlog.com . These links are to relevant sites which hold information that is not in Wikipedia, such as complete television lists, radio lists and lists of books written by the artists. You have no right to withold this information from Wikipedia readers because of your personal opinions that it is spam. It is not spam at all. Tell me where else on Wikipedia, or where else on the entire internet you can find a complete television and radio list for Benny Hill and Ronnie Barker which contains airdates. I think you will find that the answer is nowhere. I repeat, this information is not spam, and you have no right to delete it. Nettyboo 00:51, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you that they tend to scream spam the way I have written them. I am re-instating some of them to show that they are links to sites which contain information about discographies, teleivision lists and radio lists. As I mentioned before this is information that is not in Wikipedia. Please don't just delete them again without reviewing what is in the information. Nettyboo 01:28, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good. Thanks for getting it posted. Have you considered submitting it to Template talk:Did you know? You have five days from creating the article to do so, but there is always some lead time required. My suggestion for a lead-in would be something like:

... that one fan's elaboration of Quake's plot became the four-hour The Seal of Nehahra, the longest work of machinima at the time?

TKD::Talk 06:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated it there, making sure to give you credit for the article. — TKD::Talk 06:30, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, and thank you for the barnstar. The nomination is going about as well as I could have hoped. You know, after having read the two books on machinima, I've realized that there's so much that we have left to cover. But I figured that exhausting that one particular subject was going to be worthwhile. — TKD::Talk 08:13, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Updated DYK query On 30 August, 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article The Seal of Nehahra, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

FixThisGame[edit]

Although I am pleased that you care about the content of wikipedia, deleting external links without really knowing if they are spam is not your place. If external links were ONLY meant for content, there would not be an external links section, nor a section for "unofficial sites" which is the section you deleted.

I will add content explaining why the site you deleted is necessary and a valued addition, but it also belongs in the external links section. You might consider asking someone before deleting their submissions if you are going to go to the trouble of telling them not to post spam. Thank you.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jester2010 (talkcontribs) .

Reliable sources[edit]

Look, I am not going to argue with you here. To claim that a site may not be a "reliable source" is just ignorance before you have any knowledge of the subject matter. I guess the editors at IGN disagree with you, as do members of Microsoft's tech support, who are sending gamers to our site for valuable information not available elsewhere. Personally I work for a major publisher and have years of experience in writing and publishing. You are not an authority on BF2 nor what information is provided. Note: our site contains no ads, no fees, nada. Again, while I appreciate your effort and intent to keep Wikipedia a clean, efficient, informational source, your enthusiasm to edit before you have all the information is uncalled for. I will re-add/add information that I deem will be excellent and reliable for web visitors. If I feel there is a conflict of interest, I will ask another unrelated third party to do so. --Jester2010 21:57, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: ok, I just read your pet hates regarding EA...so I guess your ok. :) We agree on one thing, that is for sure!

Sleep paralysis.[edit]

Unfortunate that my additions to sleep paralysis cannot be included. In addition to wikipedia being a knowledge source, in this case I had wished for it to be a source of healing for sleep paralysis sufferers. How can I present the (very common) cure for sleep paralysis that I posted on wikipedia?

I understand that out of a corporate standpoint original research cannot be included. But out of a sense of compassion I feel that the information I posted be available to those who seek it.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.84.241.121 (talkcontribs) .

Thank you for reminding me to cite my sources.

What do you suggest I do when my sources on the matter are myself and a close group of friends? The "cure" or alleviation of sleep paralysis that I posted has no established sources as it is new. Whether or not you decide to make this information available to those who seek it is upto you.

You decide whether people find relief of sleep paralysis or not, I've done my part.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.84.241.121 (talkcontribs) .

Question from Cheza.[edit]

I apologize for editing someone's post. I was attempting to make a vote on this, and on looking I was under the impression that these votes were just done by a reply of yeay or nay if you know what I mean. But I did not mean to alter another or delete another persons post.

Now my quesion is, do you know where I may find a page which lists the functions and the rules/norms by which Wiki is run? Because it seems to me at least to be quite a complicated society of sorts if you will.

Thank you for your time, Cheza

Thought Id add to the question without posting a new topic, but how would I go about adding to a topic without editing what someone else has done? Because I want to contribute some information but I reeeeeally dont want to get in trouble. So I do not know the exact way to do so and Im really afraid of getting in trouble by doing so :x

Improving the "Deus Ex" page to Featured status[edit]

As you have been a part of raising quite a few articles on Wikipedia to "Featured" status, I thought you might be the right person to ask for suggestions on ways to improve the Deus Ex article in the same fashion. Citations[edit]

You know, there's such a thing as an unreasonable burden for evidence and this applies especially to trivial items like people's middle names. If minor details like this become public knowledge there shouldn't be a great need to cite the source, and if a source is cited there shouldn't be a need for stronger proof. Welcome back[edit]

I start losing it if my Internet access is out for a matter hours, let alone days. Let me know if you need anything in terms of admin help. I've been spending some amount of time getting acquainted with WP:AIV and CAT:CSD from the admin side, but I've got so much stuff that I eventually want to do editorially that it's not funny. But, during the week, it's hard for me to do anyting that requires research because of the small pockets of time that I can devote to one thing. CapDac has been doing some good work in getting the Red vs. Blue character articles sourced, so that's one thing off the to-do list. Adding sourced content is always the hardest part; copyediting, while time-consuming, is mechanical.

By the way, just for your information, Illegal Danish: Super Snacks! is back, but it's substantially different (and at least has some external links to substantiate notability), so I've let it be for the time being. — TKD::Talk 10:51, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cases in which you can avoid WP:IFD[edit]

Hey Drat,

Just thought that I'd let you know that you didn't need to list Image:Danson and Bhiff.png on WP:IFD. There are a few cases in which you can avoid this process:

  • Blatantly incorrect fair use tag.
  • Uploaded after May 4, 2006 and no fair use rationale for 7 days.
  • Orphaned fair use image, if left tagged with {{subst:orfud}} or {{subst:or-fu-re}} for 7 days.
  • No source information, or insufficient source information (for self-captured machinima/TV episodes, this includes which episode it's from), if left tagged with {{subst:nsd}} for 7 days.

There are a few others... — TKD::Talk 00:05, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proof that machinima has hit big-time[edit]

Don't know whether you caught these edits of mine, but it looks as if the "Legendary" edition of Halo 3 is going to include stuff from both Red vs. Blue and This Spartan Life. Looks like I'll be putting in my pre-order soon. I'm a sucker for collectible stuff, anyway. That, along with "Make Love, Not Warcraft" means that machinima has made two big publicity strides in the past month. — TKD::Talk 13:43, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Stars Purple Hearts[edit]

Yup. I speedied it. How the heck did you ever find that? Ah, I figured it out. What links here. I check that a few times a week, and must've never seen it. — TKD::Talk 12:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

warcraftmovies.com has an assertion of notability (being used in conjunction with the Xfire/Blizzard WoW machinima contest). Prod it if you want. — TKD::Talk 12:23, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Machinima guru[edit]

Hi Drat. You removed a machinima series I added to several pages, and then sent me a message trying to explain how Wikipedia works.

For starters, I've been a regular contributer to Wikipedia for years, and have started many pages here. I'm not a promoter, I'm not trawling for traffic, and I completely understand the rules of Wikipedia, because I've had exactly that problem with other pages that I've maintained.

What I'd like to know, is what you consider valid for inclusion on the page "List of machinima". We're up to 2 released episodes, with another 4 ready to go. The quality of production and the writing is good. It's also as far as I know, one of the few Australian series, if any, that are out there, and is the first and only series produced with the new Company of Heroes game.

How come other series which have a single episode or which have shut down, are allowed on this list, but you consider ours shouldn't be?

You also removed it from the Company of Heroes article, yet allowed a half dozen other fan sites to remain. That doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not bitching about it. I'd just like to know seriously, why you think ours must be excluded, and all the others are allowed. Ordinarliy, I'd just remove your deletions, because I think they're unjustified, unbalanced, unfair and short sighted. But I'm doing the right thing and asking before I do so.

Why should a fair if not good quality machinina series, not appear on the list of machinima?

And, why did you remove it as the only example of machinima in the new Company of Heroes engine section on the Machinima article, when other arguably insignificant machinima are allowed as examples for other entries?

And then there's the Red vs. Blue issue. We all love them, but do you really think they need to be mentioned again and again and again on every page? Perhaps the clean up should start by removing some of their references, instead of restricting who can appear by some subjective criteria. Don't you think?

You can't have a list for the ones you like, but not for the ones you don't know. Either have the list, or don't.

DKR - Dinosaur[edit]

First off, PNG is an awsome file format, I don't want you're talking about. If you're trying to remove low-quality files, remove all the JPEGs on there. THOSE are the bad formats. Unlike PNG, they blur the images... ALOT!

Second off, why remove the section on the Yellow Dinosaur? It's interesting little thing and by making no reference to it at all, you are kind of denying information. Wikipedia is about supplying information, and by removing the Yellow Dinosaur, it's in a way, removing information. But maybe if I put him under a Trivia section instead of characters?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by KrivenR (talkcontribs) .

Inappropriate links -[edit]

So the only problem with my addition was that i am affiliated with the site? If i got a friend to edit it in then it would be ok? It's a fantastic resource for CoH players, i don't see why it shouldn't be there.Bridger157 06:19, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templates[edit]

No problem. I just wanted to go through and try to defuse any sentiment of favoritism, especially since Red vs. Blue seems to tend to be used as a barometer in more sense than one, which is somewhat unfortunate, because Red vs. Blue is not only by far the most prolific machinima ever, but possibly one of most prolific Internet video series whose popularity poses special issues. A unique situation applies for "Make Love, Not Warcraft" because it's South Park. I really would like to neutralize our somewhat heavy Halo coverage, but, of course, there are odd disparities in coverage all throughout Wikipedia. The answer isn't necessarily to stop adding stuff about Halo machinima; it's to add stuff about non-Halo machinima. Then again, as time has progressed, I've found that the Halo universe in general has grown on me, and I've been trying to clean up bits and pieces of the Halo articles when I can; some are in rough shape.

Anyway, I've digressed. — TKD::Talk 11:38, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How William Shatner Changed the World Edit.....[edit]

Thanks for reading my page and correcting the History Channel link. But, why did you remove the YouTube links? CopyVio? Copyright violation? Well, a lot of wiki articles have YouTube links. There a lot of copyrighted clips on YouTube. YouTube is not a small unknown site. If the clips are up there, the publishers definetely know about it and have either allowed (given consent) that the clips be on YouTube or don't mind that they are on there.

Is there a wiki YouTube policy? , Otherwise, I'm going to have to revert the YouTube links. Rewt241

Source grading[edit]

Thank you for your revert. Please don't war to keep grades in that article, though -- not that you would but I wouldn't want anybody to think I'd suggest such a thing.

The most useful thing you can do, if you support source grading, is to carefully review the value, reliability, and relevance of a few citations in various other articles and make the appropriate grades. As always, discuss objections on talk. Thank you. John Reid ° 14:12, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User_talk:206.124.136.170[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:206.124.136.170 regarding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Killer_Instinct I surely wasn't trying to hide my identity. I posted some information, then I noticed I left out a paragraph and so a few minutes later, noticing there were no responses yet, I added the information missed the first time. And later, with still no responses on the page, I corrected an error that could have caused confusion and noted what I did below. Are you saying it would have been somehow nicer for others if it showed three separate signatures under the same post? I seriously thought that would make for more difficult reading, not easier reading. If I anticipated ongoing participation in the discussion, I would have logged into my account. I decided, though, not to waste time doing that, as I currently don't intend to be an ongoing maintainer of the page. Instead, I just wanted to note my views on the current state of the article so they might be considered if/when someone else might want to update the page to some higher quality. That's been done: The comments have been posted. How did any of my actions cause you harm or difficulty? These questions are not rhetorical. So far it sounds like you might just be a complainer, but if you're seriously working on the page in any way, I'd like to know these answers so I can better understand what is going on from your end. What undesirable impact resulted from my actions?

Discussing Geoff Mendicino's article[edit]

Hello, I am not Geoff Mendicino, however I am a close friend of his, using an account named after him in mockery since he supposedly 'hates Wiki'. I do realize the breaches in the code, but I do believe the constant references to him via 4chan and more recently Destructoid should allow him to at least have a SHORT article on him.

Thank you for cleaning up around Wiki, though. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GeoffMendicino (talkcontribs) 03:51, 11 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Diddy Kong Racing DS Playable Characters[edit]

Sorry about the unconfirmed chart edit. My little brother did that. He said that he read somewhere, either in the article itself or somewhere else, that they were confirmed, so he changed it.

The main reason he changed it was because it used to say Daisy Kong instead of Dixie Kong. The other change was an afterthought. 209.195.189.198 21:25, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use comment[edit]

I removed the fair use comment and have done so on several other pages, too. I really don't understand why it's needed - as far as I've known, the fair use rationale has alwasy been on the image description page, and you just add seaprate rationales for each page the image is listed on. Also, just to clarify, it was called "dubious" becuase the category that Big Rigs won in was GameSpot's "Dubious Honors" awards. But it wasn't capitalized so it looked like a plain adjective. Hbdragon88 09:33, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Untagged image[edit]

An image you uploaded, Image:Diana Spencer coa.png, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 14:21, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, serious question. I am happy to accept your rv's for linkspam, I think I see the point as valid. But why did you only target my additions. Why didn't you remove all the link spam? Some of the links you left in place are to shortlived review sites that will be gone in another year. It really makes no sense. Hey, you recently voted for a delete here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Gone_with_the_Blastwave If you hadn't already, I would like you to take another look at that page, skim read some of the evidence for it, and reconsider your decision. The Trap Door[edit]

I'm the owner of the website "www.thetrapdoor.org". I recently discovered that my web address had been removed from The Trap Door article. I'm very confused since this link has been there for 6 months and my site has a regular stream of visitors, reading the news section of my website will confirm this. I had a problem orginally with you about adding this link to the page and you replied by suggesting going ahead with it and leaving other users of Wikipedia to decide upon its merit. Since not one individual other than yourself has removed the link, I find these rather unfair. I had also added a return link to Wikipedia on my website as an act of gratitude. Another point I wish to make is the wealth of information the site contains, far beyond anything you can find within the article on Wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chris 8419 (talkcontribs) 14:52, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

TheTrapDoor.org[edit]

The reason I added the site after orginally leaving a message on Talk:The Trap Door (under a different name), after one week was down to the simple fact that I got sick of waiting, I know your busy but ain't we all. If I had waited after leaving the original message I think I would still be waiting now for it to be approved (some 6 months later). As for the site not having much "encyclopaedic worth", I don't think that the people who have visited my site and left positive messages and sent me e-mails would agree with you, after all the people at Toonhound commented "A newcomer to the Trapdoor fan scene, this one's shaping up to be the ultimate online resource...", somehow I don't think they agree with you. Try comparing it to the Wikipedia article, I think there was more information about the show on the back of the DVD case. As for adding Wikipedia to my links page, this was simply to allow users to return to where they had come from, don't see much harm in that unless you don't consider Wikipedia worthy enought of being linked to. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chris 8419 (talkcontribs) 21:15, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

System Shock - the drink companies[edit]

I can't run System Shock on my computer any more to locate the precise reference, but I do remember seeing this information in documents related to System Shock (...but am also willing to admit that the "information" function for various items in System Shock 2 may be the source for my info.) Transmission dates of Goodies' episodes[edit]

I am not impressed by your criticism and your reversion of my edit of "Cecily".

If you feel so strongly, then why don't you write about your feelings on the subject to the person who instigated the transmission times in the first place Pgb62uk. I have merely been adding the transmission times to the very few articles which he did not add the transmission time to.

The reason why the transmission times have been added is to show the reason why the television stations later treated the show as a children's programme when the intention, by the Goodies, themselves, was to have the show treated as an adult programme.

For the above reason, and as I am about to finish the job, I intend to now revert "Cecily" back to the way I had it. Figaro 06:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes there are verifiable sources. I assume that, when Pgb62uk added the transmission times, he checked the transmission times in the television programmes (of the time) in newspapers or television magazines published in the the United Kingdom (I note that uk is part of his User name).
The transmission times which I have been adding are published in the book "The Goodies Rule OK" which was written by Robert Ross (and which is available for purchase from ABC Shops). Figaro 07:11, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I should mention that the transmission times were started off as a direct result of a comment by Pgb62uk on Talk:List of The Goodies episodes. The reason why I mention this here, and why I have also added the link to the page, is so that you will be able to read the comments about the subject, if you would like to do so.
I added the airdates by checking their IMDb pages (and also added the links to the IMDb pages), when I first created The Goodies episode article pages. Figaro 07:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Red vs. Blue maps[edit]

I've commented. Yes, the thought had occurred to me that an upmerge would be best; and, if I had an infinite amount of free time, I might've done it by now. "Rethink" was my euphemism for "I'm not sure that this page should exist except as a merged redirect." — TKD::Talk 08:01, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As a somewhat tangential point, I half-regret putting up that big split tag on what was List of main characters in Red vs. Blue. I tried to do Donut as a proof of concept, but with the hope that people would follow suit with sourcing and such. Now we've got a bunch of character articles with OR. I'm sure that most can be brought up to at least GA standard, but it kind of bothers me that I didn't have the foresight to see that I'd be giving us something of a cruft magnet. *sigh*
(By the way, I'm in no way suggesting a re-merge with the character articles, but it be nice if each didn't have {{in-universe}} and {{OR}}.) — TKD::Talk 08:15, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another line of thinking[edit]

In thinking about raising the overall quality of articles within WikiProject Machinima, I've thought several times about a "Machinima Collaboration of the ____". My concerns are:

  1. ____ would have to be pretty long, probably at least a month; I don't think that we t have the capacity yet to meaningfully have a collaboration with shorter turnaround.
  2. More importantly, I'm not sure whether we can sustain enough interest in non-RvB topics to keep it from becoming a Red vs. Blue Collaboration of the ____. Now, improving any article is a Good Thing, but I'm not sure that I can see the point if we don't have reasonable variety. I'd very much like for the project's best articles to better represent a breadth of topics, and to stimulate some improvement in a broader spectrum of areas.

I would normally post this to WT:WPMACH, but I wanted to canvass you first, since I know that you have an interest in older machinima. Ideas on how to make this work reasonably well, or whether it can work? — TKD::Talk 08:44, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Webcams[edit]

Hi Drat, I'm new to Wikipedia and only want to add to it. Thank you for your comments and feedback. I have read though all the material you sent and feel that my additions are in the letter and spirit of the guidelines. Please review my additions as I feel they add to the subject and are in the spirit of other links on the same page.

An example; in the Wolong Panda page I added a link to a Live Webcam from the Wolong Panda Preserve in China. I also note that on the Giant Panda page there is a link to the Panda Webcam at the San Diego Zoo.

Please reconsider, thank you

PS. I am a big fan of Wikipedia, thank you for making it such a great resouce.

Oscar --Oscaricarbone 21:52, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drat, Is it the policy of Wikipedia that "Webcams serve no encyclopedic value" and should not be included? If so please point me at the section/s that states this. I feel a "picture is worth a thousand words" and a "live" picture of the place or subject (as in the case of the pandas) is of great interest to all.

I feel one of the differences between Wikipedia and a printed encyclopedia is the links to "on-line" content, and when that content is "live" it is even more relevant.

How do others feel about this issue?

Thank you for your time and efforts on this useful service. Oscar --Oscaricarbone 18:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the belated reply; I've been putting in long work days lately. I wouldn't categorically rule out webcams — there might be very limited cases in which they're useful — but I do think that they're somewhat tangential in most cases. What would be better is to get the webcam link added to an external directory of links, such as the Open Directory Project, and link to that directory. Wikipedia shouldn't be doing the work of ODP. — TKD::Talk 11:03, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Shoe People - Credits List[edit]

Why is it non-encyclopedically interesting to have credits listed on an entry for a television show? Who decided that? IMDb gets a lot of visitors so there must be a demand for such information, and it is entirely factual, and I would be astounded if it were copy-vio - I didn't write the list myself, but it appears to be much the same as appears at the end of the episodes, should be public record. --Orbling 15:54, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On the subject of copy-vio, I spoke to an Intellectual Property Lawyer friend of mine on this and he said, credits aren't copyrightable as they are matters of fact. Under US law, which Wikipedia is subject to, The Copyright Act of 1976 that only the presentation of factual material is copyrightable, not the underlining facts themselves. This was backed up by a Supreme Court ruling in 1991, Feist v Rural (1991) which ruled that.
"This case concerns the interaction of two well-established propositions. The first is that facts are not copyrightable; the other, that compilations of facts generally are. Each of these propositions possesses an impeccable pedigree. That there can be no valid copyright in facts is universally understood. The most fundamental axiom of copyright law is that [499 U.S. 340, 345] "No author may copyright his ideas or the facts he narrates.""
Credits are factual and public record, therefore not copyrightable. If they were IMDb would get sued to death. --Orbling 16:17, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A full listing of credits pretty much amounts to an indiscriminate collection of information. The article could be better served with prose detailing the production of the show and the key people behind the production. Any important credits info can go in the infobox, instead of taking up loads of screen space in the article.--Drat (Talk) 04:10, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The guidelines for indiscriminate collection of information do not mention credits or anything like them really. I wonder if there has ever been a decision made on it properly. I agree that the full list of credits isn't strictly necessary, but some credits are. It is not for lay users to unilaterally arbitrate on what should be included, if it does not breach the rules. (I included the above to keep context, hope you don't mind.) --Orbling 12:21, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for informing me about your requirements.

I didn't think it was necessary to make academic citations since the Mythbusters TV show compromises the scientific method with the constraints of entertainment and comedy and the backgrounds of the cast and producers [sorry no citation here].

I don't remember what my original comments were -- can you send me a copy? If it was about walking versus running in the rain, here is an example which supports my view: http://www.dctech.com/physics/features/0600.php The java source code is viewable.

It should be obvious that in a very light, vertical rain, if you go very slowly, more rain falls on you than if you go the same distance very quickly. The amount swept out by the front of your body is about the same. The problem with most empirical approaches is that they only try a few different speeds in a few different kinds of rain -- that's not conclusive [whoops, no citation again].

Is it sufficient to credit Newton for F=MA, or do I need to track down a specific text book at a "major" university and use proper vector notation?

Can I just cite the basis of my observations, or do I have to find an authority who made the same observation?

Is applying Euclidian geometry and high school physics considered original research?

Quote: Lord May continued: "The really important question now is where the Einsteins and Newtons of the future are going to come from? The problems in physics education highlighted earlier this week by the Smithers report make this question more pressing than ever."

Although your points may be valid for the controls, the list of features in the game is not per WP:NOT and therefore the Controls will be added back in a different fashion. Xbox 360 Live Achievements is a list of features in the game, and is quoted per the website that was listed on it. It just happens that Xbox 360 Live Achievements list how to do it in the achievement list, which is unavoidable. Hi, Excuse me, but I don't agree with your position : the links I added to wikipedia are not spams ! Did you at least look at the pages linked to check what it was about? Where is the spam? the page doesn't give pictures of Buttes aux Cailles? Don't you think that visitor of wikipedia would like to find easyly those pictures?

All the page (less than 10) I linked in wikipedia are perfectly matching the page I placed them in. And I would make you notice I'm not selling anything in those page.

As a consequence I demand that my links should be re-interated in wikipedia.

At least you admit it is not spam! I'm sorry, but you do not have the right to remove my work from the encyclopedia because your opinion is a Photo galleries shouldn't be part of encyclopedia ! I don't go correcting your work because I think it doesn't fit. Visual information is often usefull, you can not deny it. And if it wasn't in the interest of people, why do you think them would click on the link that says clearly it is about photos? Have you ever check a book encyclopedia? you never saw photos in it?

Anyway, your opinion does not make the rule. I check the external links guideline . Show me where you find the photo gallery link shall be removed?

The content of the linked pages are really relevent to linking wikipedia page, at least you can not deny it. For example, the #4 reason is "Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article." which also corresponds to the added links.

If you still want to erase all my work before doing, then you should request a mediation to resolve this dispute.

It is quite amazing that someone like you can spend so much of its time to bother someone who is honest and you work to improve wikipedia !

Did you see the page where I added links like this one Butte-aux-Cailles? Do you think it is worth spending hours fighting to know if a link to a photos gallery page should be added or not? And don't tell me that I should find someone neutral to ovoid a conflict of interest, it is not worth.

Trivia[edit]

I feel that most trivia is best represented in list form, contradictory to what the trivia template says, and just because there is a lot a trivia, does not mean that is a problem. Qutezuce 07:39, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've watched this unfold over the last couple minutes on my watchlist, and I'd like to offer a suggestion. Instead of reverting each other, stop editing the trivia tags and talk it out. Removing the non-binding tag, no matter how valid, is perfectly acceptable. This is a wiki, it happens. The same is true for adding it, someone felt that the article had too much trivia. Both of y'all have valid opinions on the issue, the edit history of the articles in question shows that you're not going to convince each other via revert-pong, so talk it out instead please. - CHAIRBOY () 07:52, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the lists are targets of OR then remove the OR. Every article on Wikipedia is a target of OR, vandalism, unsourced statements, etc, etc, but we don't remove them or tag them with cleanup in order to try to "fix" this problem. Qutezuce 09:14, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to your last message, the sections do not need cleaning up, so we can remove the tag. Qutezuce 23:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As for the "cleanup" you did in integrating the trivia in the Quake 3 article, I think you made the article worse. The new section you created is not flowing prose, it is just a random collection of paragraphs. Hey, wait a minute, sounds like a perfect candidate to be converted to a list. Hmmm. Whats the difference if the information is in a section titled "Development" and has no leading bullet points or is in a section titled "Trivia" and has bullets? The answer: the information is better presented in the second case. Qutezuce 23:48, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the slow response...[edit]

Hey Drat,

Sorry for the slow response. I did intend to look into the matter this morning before I went to work. However, something inside my computer — most likely, the IDE cable somehow became loose — became really borked, and both of my hard drives were wiped. So I've been spending the last few hours instead re-installing Windows XP, drivers, and updates. I'm going to be spending quite some time getting my system back into a usable state, so I'm afraid that I won't be able to intervene. I did, however, want to drop you a note so as not to leave you hanging forever. Unfortunately, between work and this little mini-crisis, my Wikipedia time will be next to nil for the forseeable future. Sorry. — TKD::Talk 09:51, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a number of references and some additional material to the article. Does the article comply to the standards of Wikipedia.org or should I put further work into it? --Nyp 07:20, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm[edit]

Soo, what really makes a MAchinima movie notable in your eyes then? i merely stated them in the page because of the fact that they are some very good machinima movies, infact many consider Tales of the past II to be the best movie ever made from WoW?

Lairds of Burnbrae[edit]

I am not a Laird of Burnbrae, if you read the article James Primrose, the 9th Laird was the last one. you can look at the Earl of Rosebery page, the family is related to them. Sarajaynej 22:46, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perry Bible Fellowship[edit]

I'm ok with the image being converted to JPG; I just wanted to point out the reason why I originally saved it as a PNG as opposed to a JPG is because on the original page it was several images put together, so I just used Ctrl-Alt-PrintScrn to save the entire screen.

Then, when I pasted it in paint so I could save it, I saved it as a PNG because when I save images as JPGs their quality detoriates. --DrBat 19:53, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm ok with it. When I convert bitmaps to JPGs, the quality is really decreased, but there really isn't too much of a difference here between the two PBF images.
I was just explaining why I didn't just save it as a JPG like the original image was. --DrBat 19:57, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Old user name[edit]

That's what I did at first, but for the sake of anonymity, I'd like to get rid of everything having to do with my old user name (I even received death threats: see the IP edit of my old user page for one such).

Though upon reflection I've chosen a rather poor replacement and might have to start again with something farther from my real persona. Check out Talk:Cave Clan if you want to see how the edit war is progressing. It's rather depressing. -- hibou 16:46, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate removal of links[edit]

The links I left on The Goodies and radio-related pages were neither spamming or advertising, they were all relevantly-placed links to guide people wanting to seek further information. The site in question (http://www.the-goodies.co.uk) is a new Goodies site based in the UK with plenty of information on all the places where I left the link. I only put the link on those pages because people would find them useful. Please stop taking liberties in future. Thanks. JessPix.

Inappropriate removal of links - reply[edit]

It wasn't merely as a means of advertising, it was to provide users with information. That's what Wikipedia is for after all. When does a site have to be old enough to be put in the links section without it looking like advertising or spamming? Would it help if, rather than putting the homepage (http://www.the-goodies.co.uk) on each page, that I tailored it so the link corresponded exactly with the Wikipedia page? I would much rather be told what the "protocol" is than having the links taken down at your discretion. I would understand completely if the links had no relevance to the page, but that's not the case, the site, like Wikipedia, is an information provider and I was only trying to do the same. I don't see why that should be a problem, so I would be grateful if the links could be put back; even if it means editing the URL to correspond directly with the Wikipedia page. I don't want to start a fight about this, that's all I'm asking for. Thanks. JessPix.

Hello, I noticed that you removed this article and replaced it with a link to the episode in which the cartoon is featured. I've taken the liberty to replace this article to its prior form. There are several references to this article outside of the immediate realm of The Simpsons, such as Tom and Jerry (MGM), Socialist realism, and History of Russian animation, just to name a few. The information and links in this article surpasses that in the one to which you linked. Please refer to Wikipedia guidelines on vandalsim (i.e. page blanking) and proper procedures for electing an article to be removed at Wikipedia:Deletion_policy in the future. Ping[edit]

Just to let you know, I think I'm capable of being back on Wikipedia at least semi-regularly for the foreseeable future. That six-week semi-forced wikibreak felt good, actually. Anyway, I have a few random thoughts:

  • Since the Rooster Teeth crew has announced that the current series is ending with episoe 100, it seems logical to me that we should hold off on any major refactoring or reorganization that we may want to do with respect to those articles. It'll be much esasier when new information isn't being added pseudo-weekly. Treading water within the current structure should be sufficient. I have plenty of thoughts on several things to do here, but those can wait.
  • I haven't forgotten about my proposed machinima collaboration proposal; I'm just trying to think about equitable means to prevent Red vs. Blue from dominating it, without building in a specific exception. Something along the lines of, "Two articles whose primary subject matter concerns the same series or production cannot be consecutive Machinima Collaborations of the Month"... or similar. Conservatively, I'd like to announce this by June 1, which is just after WPMACH's first anniversary.

TKD::Talk 09:45, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear. All the more reason to strive for breadth as well as depth. At the same time, there's not going to be any end to hasty generalizations with respect to the machinima pieces and series that are notable. — TKD::Talk 11:34, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Urgh. Just wanted to pop in while I actually have a few spare minutes and say that I've just been swamped in real life; fortunately, no computer-related issues this time around, but, if it's not one thing, it's another. I put a custom-worded note up on my talk page, to let people explicitly know that the {{busy}} tag isn't just decoration. June 1 for the machinima collaboration almost definitely won't happen if I'm to organize it, given that I have a project at work that goes into in-house testing two days before. Crunch time, indeed. Sorry. If you — or anyone else — can get enough participation, feel free (obviously... this is a wiki, after all, and no one owns any process!) to go ahead with whatever you want, and I'll join in whenever I can.
I decidedly have not forgotten about anything, though; I've just been way too busy. — TKD::Talk 06:17, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:FamGuy.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FamGuy.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Optimus Keyboard, which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, it is best not to propose deletion of articles that have previously been de-{{prod}}ed, even by the article creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Hiya. Heh heh, yeah, I admit I put that talk page as a source as a joke, since it was an unsourced statement and a bit of a weaselly, peacock term. Hadn't intended to make a serious point at all, but actually, just out of interest... why isn't it acceptable to use a talk page as a source for something like that? If the statement is "a lot of people belived this hoax", is it not reasonable to link to a discussion where people are clearly swallowing the hoax whole? Would a discussion page outside of Wiki be acceptable. Not arguing - just interested!

Adding links to external reviews / roundups?[edit]

I have published several Windows Mobile emulator reviews on *all* major Pocket PC / Windows Mobile boards. They are the best articles in the genre (see their sticky status in AximSite's Emulation forum ( http://www.aximsite.com/boards/emulator-forum/ ); several frontpages at PocketPCThoughts ( http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/ ), PocketGamer.org ( http://www.pocketgamer.org/homeindex.php ), Just another Mobile Monday ( http://justanothermobilemonday.com/Wordpress - actually, as I'm writing this mail I've just noticed they've just frontpaged one of these roundups), will be made THE official roundup & tutorials at THE central Emupage of Windows Mobile ( http://emupage.pocketgamer.org/ ) etc.

How should I link them in so that noone accuses me of advertising? These are external articles cross-posted to, as has been stated, several WM boards. I may link in *all* the 8 or 9 Windows Mobile forums I've cross-posted the articles to so that noone can say I'm only linking in from one forum (currently, the PPCMag Expert Blog) only. An example of these multi-links are on my old homepage at http://www.winmobiletech.com/ .

Menneisyys 09:23, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the answer.

Unfortunately, currently, the Wiki pages certainly lack any kind of up-to-date (or, with many platforms, any) Windows Mobile-related emulator info. Just linking in some emulators themselves (currently that's all some of the current Wiki pages do) doesn't really help anyone who seeks for help in deciding how those emulators should be used and how they compare to each other.

As far as converting & rewriting my articles, they are VERY long (feel free to check them out) - the average size is between 20k and 60k chars, and there are at least ten of them. It would be really hard work to rewrite (to, for example, remove personal opinions / comparisons / recommendations ) & convert them all to the Wiki database. Hence I would prefer linking them - I just don't have the time to rewrite them just "only" for the Wiki. External links linking to all the cross-posts would also be OK with me so that noone can say I'm advertising PPCMag exclusively.

As far as converting these articles to the Wiki, in addition to the time factor, my mother tongue isn't being English is another problem. I couldn't rewrite them so that they meet the finest English requirements either.

Of course, if someone finds it useful to convert / rewrite all the information in the articles (I don't think they can be made any shorter: they are full of information; any shortening will result in information loss), it's OK with me if he/she does so.

Menneisyys 10:41, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I don't think I could reduce / leave out any information from these articles without losing any important and/or useful info - they are nothing else than compatibility, upgradability etc. information, with almost no useless additional stuff (except for asking my readers to read my previous articles, their links etc. - it can indeed be taken away. But this isn't more than, say, 2-3% of the entire text.)

I really recommend spending some hours with the articles (and, when available, the feature / compatibility / comparison charts) if you have some time to spend to see why these articles (not just plain blog posts - they are much more) have been chosen THE definitive guides on many leading Windows Mobile web sites and also on the official WM Emupage.

I just wanted to help regular Wiki readers not reading Windows Mobile-centric web sites with some top-notch information they otherwise wouldn't be aware of. Trying to picking the most important info out of these articles while keeping the integrity of the entire picure is pretty hard (if not impossible) - that is, it's pretty unlikely I would bother with trying to post an even terser, really-down-to-essential-info of the roundups.

Of course, the choice is yours :) If you don't want to link them in, I have absolutely no problem with it: I understand your decision and won't bother you again or the gaming console / computer Wiki pages.

Hey Drat, Thought I'd let you know I've been playing with the Group X entry a bit and have added a few citations and new content.

Getting Deus Ex to FA[edit]

I've been talking with Grandpafootsoldier about what it'll take to get Deus Ex up to Featured Article status. Since I've never worked an article up that far before and getting a review just to see what's wrong with it would be a waste of resources, I'm thumbing around, looking for people who might be able to suggest work that needs to be done. Any help you can offer would be great, thanks for your time! Consequentially 09:12, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Stupid Spartan Show[edit]

Hello Drat: the series will be released in Q4 2007. Please respond the minute you feel the urge to delete it AGAIN!!!—Preceding unsigned comment added by Hjsss (talkcontribs)

Your note[edit]

Thanks for the welcome back. I don't know whether my return will (again) be fleeting, or whether I'll return to heavy editing, but, when I saw that big {{Halo series}} template on Red vs. Blue, I knew that I had to get involved again. :) Don't worry about the machinima article collaboration if you don't have time, though it'd be nice to start up eventually. I have a big project going to client release this month, so things have been hectic since January, really. I did keep up with Red vs. Blue the entire time, and I saw 1-800-Magic (but wasn't entirely impressed). — TKD::Talk 10:51, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, you might want to consider archiving your talk page; it's over 100 KB. :) — TKD::Talk 10:52, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio[edit]

Since you appear to be fairly vigalant on enforcing copyvios hopefully you can help with this case. I listed BioShock in Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2007 August 12/Articles because of a section you added here. It looks to me like this is a probably a copyvio from Game Informer magazine. Could you perhaps help clarify what you did on the talk page and fix any copyvio problems with the article. Nil Einne 16:53, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi understand your reluctance to review the current edition but would it be possible for you to review your update above and confirm whether what you added is more or less copied directly from the GameInformer article (hopefully you still have the magazine)? As that is exactly what you wrote, there would be nothing there you don't already know I guess Nil Einne 15:01, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Michael Berryman (discussion)[edit]

..was totally uncalled for. Izaakb 01:37, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An anon modified your comments in Talk:Michael Berryman here which I've just reverted here. Nil Einne 15:14, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Drat -- sorry for the mixup, but as you can see above Nil Einne caught what i missed. I did not notice you had edited it since your sig was deleted as well. I've been cleaning up Michael Berryman's entry now for a year -- it seems to have 1 or 2 vandals and I assumed it was "him" again. Izaakb 03:06, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
