Images[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Virginiakidd.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images (on my talk page) and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, BrokenSegue 02:55, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Can I interpret the comment you left on my talk page to mean that you want to release that picture into the public domain? Sorry to be a pest about this. BrokenSegue 21:37, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Pirate rs.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pirate rs.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Stan 03:42, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please add a copyright license to this photo as quickly as possible. Thuresson 23:00, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arrowhead SF[edit]

You seem to be greatly involved with all things James Blish and Virigina Kidd related.

Yes, they are my father and mother.

Did you write the Arrowhead SF article?

Yes, I did.

My concerns are about the title and whether it is original research – based on the comments about things said "to this writer". Besides the problem of first-person writing, this implies a non-verifiable direct conversation.

Can't get much more verifiable than the original participants, eh?

Given your apparent depth of knowledge and concern for the topics, I certainly assume good faith, but would like to know more about this if I could.

Aside from being offspring, I also wrote, and maintain, the genealogy at blish.org.

(Personal note: my first exposure to Blish was his "storyfications" of Star Trek teleplays about three and a half decades ago.) Thanks, Rlquall 13:00, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Wi scap.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Wi scap.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:53, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
