Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hunter Abbey

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Non-notable and/or not verifiable. IMDb is unaware of "writer/director Hunter Abbey" or his two alledged films (see previous two listings), and only knows of Dan Weekes-Hannah's performance on The Tribe. All combinations I tried with google resulted in zero relevant hits or a couple Wikipedia mirrors, except for one interview with Dan Weekes-Hannah for a New Zealand young adult magazine[1] that doesn't mention anything about Abbey being a writer or director. That includes trying to find "Young Filmaker's Showcase" or "Young Filmmaker's Showcase". Article interlinks with Oliver Robinson on VfD, above. If it gets deleted, the mention at Wellington High School should be removed, or at least de-linked. Niteowlneils 21:11, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete: Prank/vanity, not notable enough. When the kid succeeds in getting noticed by the wider world, we may need an entry on him, but not now. Geogre 21:32, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, agree with Geogre. Note that that the entry for Dan Weekes-Hannah was blanked by author and has subsequently been speedy deleted. --Ianb 22:12, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • I third Geogre's motion. Delete. Bearcat 23:22, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Just because something's not mentioned elsewhere on the Internet does not mean its not noteworthy. Probably at least 100s of people have been affected by this director. Voyager640 07:52, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
    • That is wild speculation with no evidence to back it up. It isn't that hard to make a film these days, making one that is notable is harder. Complete lack of evidence suggest non-notability. Delete. Average Earthman 12:17, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Unverifiable, vanity. Gwalla | Talk 01:38, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • (Anon vote: ) Keep. I feel it important to note that he does collaborate with a well-known actor and may be of interest to Weekes-Hannah's fan. For proof of this see the MSN groups site; at least two Weekes-Hannah fan clubs exist, one with over 300 members. — User:222.152.179.95 (contribs)
  • Delete - vanity - let him graduate high school and become famous first - Tεxτurε 23:37, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • (Anon vote: )Keep. Why should a person have to be famous for them to be mentioned in this encyclopedia. Isn't the point of it to provide information? He has received awards at a competition in his home town and should be recognized for his work on the internet.
    • comment: Wikipedia is not "the internet", he can be recognised on other web pages. --Ianb 09:48, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
