Online social collaboration projects like wikipedia.org, are noble in their engagement of individuals. However, the only problem with online community-building is that it advantages the worldviews of people with 1) good internet connections and infrastructure, and 2) time to spend on the internet.

The idea, I suppose, is that the parts will equal a whole truth - that if everyone's perspectives are compiled, we will get a full, fair article. But if not everyone's perspectives are included, then you can never get a completely objective article. Its bias will be skewed towards people priviledged with the luxury of spare time, resources, and strong internet connections.

My main concern is that online communities do not forget that there are many people who do not have the time, luxury, or resources to access the internet from home and/or at work. I regret to say that I am no longer proudly affiliated with Wikipedia's work.
