Many chemical reactions are done in solutions. Solutions are mixtures that typically consist of two parts, the solvent and the solute. When the maximum allowed solute is mixed in a solution the solution is said to be saturated. When is is below the maximum, the solution is said to be unsaturated. When is is above the maximun (as is the case with some situtions) the solution is supersaturated.

The solubility of a solution is the perecentage of solute there is in a solvent. It can be represented as a percentage or in grams of solute per 100g of solvent.
