Best-selling contemporary female artist[edit]

Celine Dion was the best selling artist of the 1990s. However according to Guinness World Records, “Since 1983, Madonna (USA, b. Madonna Ciccone) has sold an estimated 335 million albums and singles (including digital tracks) worldwide”, making her the best-selling female recording artist of all time. Madonna is considered a contemporary music artist. the vast majority of those sales were singles - and Guiness' source for their statement is very questionable, as many articles on truly tracking down what has sold, what has shipped but not sold, etc. etc. are out there 50.111.31.194 (talk) 23:59, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your source did not state Madonna as the best selling contemporary artist nor did it state Madonna as a contemporary artist. She is a pop artist. It will remain as it is until you can provide better source. Thank you. Loibird90 (talk) 11:41, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Father[edit]

Why isn't her father Adhémar-Charles Dion listed along with the mother in the box that has "Parent"? He is listed on the mother's Wikipedia page as Celine's father. Wickorama (talk) 03:43, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 28 November 2023[edit]

change "residency in Vegas and is considered" to "residency in Vegas that is considered" (rationale: her residency is considered, not she is considered, inasmuch as she is not a residency but a person) 2.108.37.212 (talk) 09:12, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done though I changed it to "She signed a $100 million contract for a residency in Vegas, which is considered one of the most lucrative and risky residency contracts in the touring industry" to reflect the source's language. -- Pinchme123 (talk) 06:36, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
