University of Reading

Hi. Thanks for your improvements to this article. I note that in your comment you said also there is a slight pov over kevin warwick being 'probably the most well known'. I changed the words to this, because before it just said including kevin warwick which seemed to me to be even more pov (Kevin Warwick is the only member of staff worthy of mention). If you can think of a more npov way of putting it, please feel free. On the other hand I suspect we need more names. -- Chris j wood 12:08, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)

University of Wales, Bangor

I expanded the section on people in the UWB article and made it into a section (Famous people) which you shortly afterwards renamed to Alumni. Just thought I'd point out that 4 of the people in there are not alumni of the uni--please read sections before renaming them--so I've changed it back. Maybe I should make an alumni sub-section in there sometime though.

Cardiff

Hi there. I noticed that you removed the note that the Bluebirds play in the English league from the Cardiff article. I didn't put it in myself, but you could argue that it is noteworthy (or at least quirky) that a Welsh team plays in the English league. Image copyright problem with Image:St_pats.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:St_pats.jpeg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. Duplicate images uploaded

A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you uploaded the same image twice: as Image:Reading University Students' Union Logo.jpg and also as Image:RUSU logo small.jpg. The latter copy of the file has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

A tag has been placed on Unions 94, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
