I recently took a picture of the Stepping Stones Lighthouse and wondered if maybe the page wouldn't benefit from it. Currently the only photo is the historic one. Rather than just put mine in, I tohught I'd ask here and see if anyone had thoughts on the matter, and if I don't hear any objections in a week or so, I'll put it in. As I see it, there are a few options: 1) we could replace the historic photo in the infobox with my (modern) photo, and put the historic photo elsewhere; 2) we could leave the historic photo in the infobox and put my photo elsewhere, or 3) we could leave things as they are. I am suggesting Option 1 or potentially 2. Also, I'm open to suggestions on cropping the photo down to just show the lighthouse, versus the island it's sitting on. --Kadin2048 15:57, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you think so. I inserted my photo into the infobox. I couldn't bear to get rid of the historical photo completely though, so I made it into a thumb and put it on the left in the text body. Right now it looks crowded, but I think as more text gets added, it'll even out. It is still a stub. I'm also going to go create a stub page for the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse, and I think I might have a photo somewhere of that one as well. --Kadin2048 13:31, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bronx vs. Nassau County[edit]

I have better things to do than to pick a fight with Nassau County. That said, however, shouldn't the location of the lighthouse be credited to City Island and the Bronx? I realize that the Coast Guard ceded the property to North Hempstead but its location remains off the coast of the Bronx. BrandenburgG (talk) 15:58, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I assume you mean in the categories, since the article makes no claim. I've looked at several maps, and all place the lighthouse in Nassau off Kings Point rather than the Bronx. To me, unless there is a map showing the location is in the Bronx, it is actually in Nassau regardless of City Island. Ahwiv (talk) 16:22, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
