To Michael Tinkler  : I move the Holy Roman Emperor to Kurfuersten/Elector.

If you like this better , please delete or move the HRR .Thanks user:H.J.

I don't like this page's title "Kurfuersten/Electors" -- I don't like slashes being used except for subpages, and I don't like non-English words in titles when there is a commonly used English word instead. Something like "Electors of the Holy Roman Empire", while it might be a bit more painful to type, would be much more informative... -- SJK

Agree with you on title -- maybe we should combine the two pages?

Also, Changed German king to king of the Romans, because that's what the text of the Golden Boll says. Granted, the Kings of the Romans were never Roman, and almost always German (or at least Habsburgish if they were Spaniards...), but that was the official title. I think it's better that way. King of the Germans implies a structure that didn't exist, but could be confused -- most people will get that King of the Romans was really an honorific, and didn't have much meaning. JHK

To JHK The so-called "Spanish" kings /emperors had to sign an agreement that only German or Latin language would be used in the business of the empire. The first kings called themself kings of Franks, the Romans , later Holy was added, later of German Nation was added. All this shows that German and European history was never stagnant and always changed . Of course this is difficult for people today to cathegorize, let alone understand. The 'Spanish' kings of that time were not Spanish, just as the'Polish' kings were not Polish and in the case of Richard Corwallis as German king , the German kings/emperors were not always German. But we did not have nation states as we have since the last 100 years .

Someone had typed in all the Hohenzollern names in German . I guess we leave it as that for now. ( I found Albrecht Achilles info from 1911 under Albert III Brandenburg. ) Again,as with Albrecht the Baer, if the right names are not used then info remains hidden away.

I agree, we wait and see, what other suggestions are made and keep inputting info in the list as it stands for now.

My opinion to the 'Kurfuersten', that is just as much the title as a Doctor or MD title. Not showing it with the persons name is a disservice. A US President or a General keep their title, it just so happens , that these titles are the same in German language. user:H.J.
