Melbourne articles[edit]

Hey there, I don't know if you've checked up on the WikiProject Melbourne recently, but a few of us have decided to adopt an article or two. The idea is to pick a lacking article and "be in charge" of it - do the research, writing, maybe even picture-taking. We're trying to build up the number of qualiy articles, instead of thinly-spread stubs. Don't feel you have to do anything :), but if you want, pick an article and add yourself to the list. The Humungous Image Tagging Project[edit]

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. tagging articles[edit]

Please put semi-permanent templates like {{expansion}} that only are useful to editors, on talk pages (the only exception I can think of would be the different stub templates). This is to Avoid self references as much as possible and make our content more useful to third party users. Thank you. :) --mav 08:58, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Please ignore mav's request. He/she has been making this request to many users but it is counter to policy as stated on the very page that she refers people to, which is as follows:

However, there are exceptions to this. In particular, an article which is still in its initial development or under dispute often will include tags such as "stub", "npov", and "expansion" to help editors further develop the article, and the text in these templates include self-references. Try, however, to limit such self-references, even in templates.
