Why the hell is this article full of references to the g-virus? no where in game does it mention the g-virus. it states that all the plaga monsters are created by genetic manipulation

I Really Wish[edit]

I remember Luis saying he remembered a sample of the T-Virus at the labs in his police department. Later in the game we find out he was not a police officer, but a researcher for the Plagas Virus.

Just cause he's a researcher doesn't mean he wasn't a cop. He is a good shot after all. L.S.K.

Could the Plagas not really be a natural born parasite, but a mutation of the T-Virus?

I always loved how the Biohazard games had that scientific aspect to it; and all of that is ruined with Las Plagas, as it is a "Natural Born Fantasy Creature" like a Unicorn or a Dragon.

It's information from the game Resident Evil 4. The guy who wrote it didn't note that anywhere. So it needs rewritten. (Hey kids it's fun time woo)

I added that it was for the GC. That should clear things up. I guess someone could rewrite it but I think it's fine.

"Typically, the Plagas will integrate themselves into a human being by nesting between the lower rib cage and spinal cord..." Leon's Las Plaga was right under his heart. Is he right on that information?SkreeHunter 02:59, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I don't know about this, it might or might not have to be merged, I'll see what I can do. As well as the game says nothing about spores, and the ending credits show a different tale. I'll re-write it if I can.

Note; it DOES mention that the parasites evolved into a spore like entity. Though not exactly in those words. It is mentioned on a piece of paper in the game.

Well, I don't know. Cuz in RE5, the zombies are people infected with the T-Virus and have been implanted with Las Plagas. So they are intelligent and fast moving, but extremly hard to kill. So unless someone out in the boonies of eastern europe had the knowlegde of making an insect-like parasite from a virus. Then yeah, it could work.

What are you talking about? In the game it is stated that the Las Plagas were sealed away long enough to fossilize, which would take hundreds of years, likely long before any human would have the technology to create them. Umbrella's viruses were created in the 1970's, long after the Las Plagas already existed.24.118.227.213 20:22, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Illuminados[edit]

If the name is based off the Spanish language I think you'd rather have it spelled as 'Los Iluminados', since the double ll would be pronounced most closely like a y. Unless that's how it's meant to be pronounced, but I'd think that it would be pronounced Ilu and opposed to Iyu, since Iyuminados doesn't really mean or resemble anything.

I'm just going with the way it's spelled in the game itself. I think it's best not to try to correct Capcom's errors. --Halloween jack 23:45, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers[edit]

The sentence about the plagas and the main characters of Resident Evil 4 was removed. I don't think anyone needs spoilers on this page.

Queen plaga[edit]

Where is this information about a queen plaga coming from? The closest reference I can fathom is in "Separate Ways," when Ada mentions a "master Plaga sample." However, that's ambiguous, and could refer to an intact, viable Plaga untainted by Saddler's research, or something else entirely. Teflon Don 06:12, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the information is inferred from the fact that the Plagas can be controlled by someone who is, in turn, inhabited by a Plaga. This would suggest that there are more powerful Plagas, who are capable of leading the lesser ones. This is not definite though, and there is little to support this claim within the actual game. As stated in Luis' memo Plaga are social creatures, which means that ther are different social standings. The ganados, zealots, and comandos are at the bottom. El Gigant,Del Lago,Verdugo,U3,Garrador,Colmillo,regenerators,iron maidens, and Armadura are in the middle. Saddler,Krauser,Salazar, and Mendez are at the top. The Ganados,Zealots, and the Comandos are at the bottom because theyre replaceable. The other creatures are the "Fighters" of the Society. Saddler,Krauser,Salazar, ans Mendez are the "Leaders"(Well maybe not Krauser cause Saddler was gonna kill him off) Also each of them controlls a certain class.Mendez=Villagers,Salazar=Zealots&Verdugo, and Saddler=Comandos. It all adds up. there are also variant subspecies. There may also rogue plaga. Mr.Merchant has a rogue plaga this explains why he doesnt kill leon (the guys F**king loaded he's packin' heat!) This ede me theorize that the rogue are weak, because Mr.Merchant Can be killed with a shot to the foot(Pussy...) This made me theorize that there is more than one rogue plaga,Mr.Merchant cant cover all that ground by himself. So that means that there is more than one Merchant. But Everything ive gathered still doesnt Explain to me the theory of how to differentiate The Queen from the rest of the pack. Also the fact that saddler attached a plaga to a staff could possibly mean, that the staff may also control the way a plaga is.Maybe Saddler injected hinself and the staff affected him.....I mean it's possible isn't it?

Dude, ITS A GAME!!! The merchant is one guy. (play pro mode noob!!) Him getting ahead so easily is a game-play mechanic. And anyway, with all the weapons in his shop (Multiple CTs and ILs) he could easily get througha level fster than Leon, who has to rely mostly on his wussy handguns and knife. 71.114.205.234 18:29, 21 October 2007 (UTC) FUalumni[reply]

Err, actually, no. It is different guys. Note that if you kill one, that guy will never appear again there, but will appear in other places. Also, look at the gondla ride near the end of the village act. The merchant appears at two different places on the same map simultaniously. That is only possible if the merchant is in fact more than one person. - Fearless Son (talk) 01:23, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the staff appears to be how Saddler controls the other hosts. He also mentions in a note that a plaga reflects its hosts personality. so really the reason the hosts are controlled, is that its in their nature to. The villagers are used to being ruled so they do as mendez says. the zealots have wecomed the plagas into their bodies, and the militants are really just soldiers, so they follow saddlers orders without question. this, along with the way that saddler controls them (as told in ada's report 1) is why they do as the greater hosts say. not because of a class system but because it is how they have always acted. also there's no evidence krauser is infected with plaga. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.139.79.205 (talk) 13:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better Images[edit]

The current images of the Las Plagas samples and parasites are too blurry. Could someone replace them with more visible images? --YoungOcelot 20:41, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello? --YoungOcelot 22:21, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is a problem as well. With all of the different forms of Las Plagas you would think that there would be better quality pictures, and more of them.--ThatGuy16:33, 23 Feb. 2007(UTC)

Look up the images on google or get a guide book

Opinions[edit]

Who keeps classifying the different types of plaga as most and least dangerous? That's pure opinion and doesn't belong here. Also, someone gave the different types names. Are these supported by any outside source (strategy guide, etc?)

Actually the different names are commonly accepted among players and strategy guides. And its kind of obvious that the plagas get more dangerous as you go. I mean, the first ,the tentacle type, really only hurt you and any competent player can easily dispatch them safely. The second, the worm type, take more shots to kill and can kill you in one hit. And the third, the spider, take the most hits to kill, have several different attacks for different ranges, and once they seperate, they can have a one hit kill move. So I think the different types are definatly get more dangerous. 71.114.205.234 18:24, 21 October 2007 (UTC)L.S.K.[reply]

If that's the case, then why have I never died to the spider type? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 133.29.103.238 (talk) 06:36, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because this article isn't based around your 'pro-leet skillz' in easy

mode...82.36.244.186 20:55, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I've played through the game 4 times, 3 of those on Pro. The spiders, to me, are the easiest, the worms the most dangerous. All I'm saying is that the ratings of danger are dependent on player's ability and technique and are not objectively true.

Brainwashing[edit]

This article says that Saddler brainwashed Salazar, but I've found no evidence of this in the game. The note from the butler says that he likely took advantage of Salazar's faith in the Los Illuminados religion. An underhanded pastor and a brainwasher are not the same thing, and, as a religious person I find the implication a little offensive. Gopherbassist (talk) 04:06, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
