NPOV[edit]

This article needs NPOVing - the last paragraph in particular is highly partisan, and it does not mention, for example, the ICP's role in putting the Ba'athists in power. It also omits any detail in the more recent information, such as the IFTU union federation dominated by the party, and does not mention any of the many splits it has suffered, of which at least the Worker Communist Party of Iraq is of some importance. Is the WCPI really an ICP split? I think it's more that WCPIraq is a spin-off of WCPIran exiles in Iraqi Kurdistan.--Soman 10:22, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)
What a quick reaction! You've much improved the article already, and while it could still do with expansion, I agree you've addressed the POV issues. I'll check the WCPI info, but yes, I think I may be wrong on that. Warofdreams 10:51, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

2003 Invasion[edit]

Did the ICP really oppose the US invasion in 2003? All the non-ICP sources I've read, including news stories at the time, indicate that the ICP critically supported the invasion, with the caveat that they would have preferred the UN doing it instead of the US. 98.234.252.4 (talk) 20:15, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

They certainly opposed it before it took place. Once it occured, they had a pragmatic approach, arguing that their situation was akin to that of Italian communists in late WWII. --Soman (talk) 21:45, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Christopher Hitchens claimed that the CP were in favour of an invasion. He knew them well. You need to provide a source, Soman. Though so do we... --StephanNaro (talk) 21:26, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
