aka South of Town[edit]

My attempts to edit the article to indicate that Swift Trail Junction is more commonly known as "South of Town" have been met with revert action twice, by user Nyttend, who insists that it's a violation of NOR. For a similar situation, one need look no further than the article on "Gold Camp, Arizona". The CDP name Gold Camp is virtually unknown outside the census world, yet the article mentions the fact that it's more commonly known as "Gold Canyon" with no citation given. Why is this not an issue for that article? In the interest of providing accurate information, I respectfully demand that the "Out South" colloquialism be included in this article. Having grown up in the Safford area, I know for a fact that the name "Swift Trail Junction" is virtually unheard of within the community, and that the name "Artesia" and the colloquial term "Out South of town" are far more common among the locals. This is not original research, it is a fact. Roadiejay (talk) 05:39, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You need to prove that it's a fact. Nyttend (talk) 15:57, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please note the similar situation on the Gold Camp, AZ article, which was not contested or reverted. Is there a double standard in place? It seems to me that edit was also based on local knowledge, and not by any newspaper articles, because there is no discussion on the addition, nor is there any reference in place to "prove" that the area is referred to almost exclusively as Gold Canyon. There isn't a double standard — that's why I've worked with that article as well. Please understand: I work with thousands of geography articles nationwide, so if I do something to an article and don't to another similar one, it's quite possible that I didn't observe the problem elsewhere.
