Hello, "Lyndafis" and welcome to Wikipedia. A few tips for you:

Hello, Lyndafis

Thanx for your comment, I believe that due to the religious diversity and more tolerant of Wales, as well as the distict culture, the Welsh Dissenters would make an own topic. However, I have found other articles, such Dissenters, Nonconformism, what I believe they should be merged, and therefore other British dissenters, wether Welsh, Scot, Scot-Irish would make a great article altogether. Ddiolch Leo

Over to you then. I'm too young to remember anything earlier than the Sons of Glyndwr and the wrong side of the border in any case. Just wanted to get something up to fill a long-standing empty request slot. If the 1969 investiture information is incorrect, you will probably want to check through the entry on Wales itself (esp. the political section) when you update. A lot of the article is duplicated there. I've added the article to your stubs list.

 • Just seen the reworked article. Great job!

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Speedy deletion of Rob Phillips[edit]

A tag has been placed on Rob Phillips requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 17:59, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:42, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lyndafis. Not sure if you are still active here, but there is a discussion at Talk:Monmouth, about the connection of Philip Evans and John Lloyd with Llanrothal, near Monmouth, in which you might be able to help. Many thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 19:37, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

David John Williams[edit]

According to the article on the community of Ferndale, D. J. Williams once lived at '32 Dyffryn' street. I would like to know if this is actually supposed to be '32 Duffryn' Street. If so, Mr. Williams had to have lodged in the home of my great-great-grandmother, Magdalen (Mrs. Thomas) Martin. I would be interested in learning more about Mr. Williams time in Ferndale. Sadly, I do not read Welsh, so I would have to have an English translation.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
