Is it Lesser Caucasus?[edit]

First sentence said: "Sabalan (Persian: سبلان [sæbæ'lɒːn], Savalan ) is an inactive stratovolcano in the Lesser Caucasus mountain range and Ardabil Province of northwestern Iran."

If this is true, then it is highest peak of Lesser Caucasus? On Lesser Caucasus page it is written: "The highest peak is Aragats, 4,090 m (13,420 ft)."

Obviously informations doesnt match.

Lesser Caucasus or Armenian Highlands?[edit]

Since this part is unsourced I added two sources that show its correct location. I couldn't find any source amplifying it's in Lesser Caucasus so I change this to Armenian Highlands for now. If anyone finds more reliable sources, add or replace the existing ones. UserXpetVarpet (talk) 13:34, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Random sites do not count as sources (see WP:RS). Iranica makes no mention of Sabalan being part of the Armenian highlands; "The mountain and its surroundings are part of the Armenian-Azerbaijan knot of mountains, where Pontus and Taurus mountain chains have their eastern roots and Alborz and Zagros their starting point.". Moreover, searching "Sabalan Armenian" in Jstor does bring anything up about Sabalan being part of the Armenian highlands. --HistoryofIran (talk) 14:00, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
