Unnamed Section[edit]

Should this page be moved to Kult (game) or Kult (rpg) since there is now a Kult (band) article as well?

Unless the band's name is The Kult or similar. If this is the case, the band's article should not be the same as this one's at all.

Kult and Occult Organisations[edit]

I would rather say that the game Kult draws on similarities and magical orders based on millennia-old beliefs systems, not the opposite, honestly.

I think I agree with you there, I honestly don't know why Dragon Rouge is even mentioned, as the in-game magic does not really contain anything like that. The copy the I own (The English 1st edition, published by Metropolis) contains a large section on magic, in which it disscuss (in a rather exaggerating & dark tone) several occult traditons, the majority of which are old long-practiced world belifes. The only excetion to this is Satanism, which in the game has almost nothing in common with the real-world religion. In Kult they are just the loyal servents of Astroth and his Death Angels.

Above all else, it should be noted that these 'occult traditions,' really have no impact in the way magic is played in the game. Mostly because they are only there to help with the background knowledge, and personaitly of charcters. The actual magical system itself uses a lores/schools of magic like most other RPGs, and ultimatly one's background has no major effect on the magic used in the game. History[edit]

I believe The OK-Kult is not something Germany-specific. The supplement contains parts of other books which have been published in both Swedish and English. Plagiarism?[edit]

They have adapted our text, not vice versa, I think. Their earliest draft is from January, and I compared our drafts from that time to theirs, and it seems the relevant passages appeared here first. --Agamemnon2 11:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Massive cleanup needed.[edit]

This article needs some cleaning. I have corrected smaller mistakes here and there, but in general the article has sections with very akward syntax. I surmise that some of the contributors may not have English as their primary language. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cleanup needed[edit]

Things to fix:

General update because of the new edition.

It is not possible to say 1st edition was less action-oriented than subsequent ones, after all, it did feature an extensive guns section. The new edition (Divinity Lost) should be presented as focusing more on mystery and psychological horror than action, because that's how its Apocalypse Now engine works (=its not a simulationist or detail-oriented rpg engine).

Better organization: clearly say what edition each paragraph talks about. Some sections speak as if there aren't different editions with wildly different rulesets.

Pruning OR: ttrpg articles are notoriously difficult to source, but the current article contains too much OR.

Cover image[edit]

I noticed the recent attempt to provide a 4th edition cover picture. While probably made in good-faith, the attempt will likely be deleted because the uploader did not successfully navigate the honestly very tricky waters of picture licenses and permissions.

In this case, the picture we want is clearly NOT free, and so the correct approach is to clearly state this in the uploading. Instead of being asked to prove you have permission, you should argue your upload meets the definition of "fair use" per WP:NFCI. Most movie posters would fall into this category, for instance. Do upload a very small low-res version (or a bot will come around and mangle your picture for you) per WP:IMAGERES.
