I dunno about not having this be the entry for Elaine Benes. The only examples on the list that plausibly go by the single-name "Elaine" are the Seinfeld character and the Arkansas town. And the Seinfeld character is much more well known. If someone's looking for other Elaines they can use the search function. It's preferable to have articles at the 90% right title. --The Cunctator

What about the mythological character, half-sister of King Arthur? That can only be "Elaine" alone, surely. I think there's enough ambiguity to merit keeping this a disambig, but I'm not sure we need to list everybody (or thing) called Elaine, just those who might plausably live at an article just called "Elaine". --Camembert
  • This should really be consolidated with Elaine (given name). I added the Elaine Benes here, before I realised that entry was already under the (given name) one. Given that there are given names in this article as well, they should be consolidated. Having multiple disambiguation pages only creates more ambiguity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.139.8.209 (talk) 16:35, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 38.139.8.209, yes, Elaine Benes was hard to find. According to MoS:DP#Given_names_or_surnames however the given names disambig should not be part of the Elaine disambig. I don't know who proposed this rule, but maybe it was according to such large disambigs like James. I moved now all persons from Elaine into Elaine (given name), I guess now its easier to find. Hello The Cunctator, I hope that helps the people looking for the Seinfeld character. However, I strongly object that 90% of the people who enter "Elaine" are looking for Elaine Benes. At least I have never heard of her, maybe it's because I prefer listining to music and reading books, thus my Elaine associations are Elaine (song) and Elaine (legend). Nevertheless, take a look at the articles after my modifications and see how easy Elaine Benes can be find now by someone who enters "Elaine" – just two clicks. --Cyfal (talk) 17:43, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
