Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on February 21, 2014.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that "Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment" from the Ramones's Leave Home album was described as a "sing-along mental-illness ode"?

Carbona Not Glue[edit]

Isn't it so that the 2nd US version featured "Sheena is a punk rocker", and the second European version "Babysitter"?(MrDeBeuker 19:43, 7 February 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Yep. The discography is misleading. "Carbona Not Glue" appeared only on early vinyl (and possibly cassette) pressings of the album and was pulled a few months after the initial release. The studio version of the song did turn up much later on compilation albums, and the band did continue doing the song live. Timothy Horrigan (talk) 21:26, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • note* my (UK) copy of Leave Home has Babysitter listed on the vinyl label and on the back of the sleeve, and has the lyrics printed in full on the inner sleeve. 86.22.144.3 (talk) 15:28, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i am going to expand the living bejesus out of this page[edit]

it seems that a lot of bands and artists of similar popularity and influence often get a lot more pages than the ramones, and i seek to change that. if i can get enough in here, i hope to restore each song tp its' own (expanded) aritcle, likewise with the other albums. any help with the expansion or comments, concerns etc should go to my talk page. peace. Joeyramoney 02:46, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

donesir. the article has now more than doubled in length. expect likewise for other ramones albums. Joeyramoney 23:36, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Original Research in Writer Credits[edit]

Once again, someone has decided to use composer credit derived from reading a book about the Ramones rather than the credits as clearly stated on every LP and CD issue of this album.

And they appear to have done this with all the other early Ramones albums. Perhaps it was the same person who also used to append Pete Townshend as the co-composer of certain Clash songs, based on similarities between those songs and some by the Who? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.92.148.18 (talk) 20:24, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad to see your work here. As per the above checklist there are no issues with the article and it’s a GA. However I’d recommend that:

  • The "Cite error" in the references be fixed.

Besides that, I think the article looks excellent. All the best, --Seabuckthorn  09:05, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Publicized with three singles?[edit]

Is it really correct to say the album was publicized with 3 singles, when 1 of them was actually released 14 years after the album? I think it would be more correct to say 2 singles, while still mentioning the later Subpop release. Robman94 (talk) 19:01, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, I reworded it to: The album spawned three singles, but only one succeeded in charting. CrowzRSA 19:37, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cover art[edit]

The page states that "The album cover was designed by Moshe Brakha, who had worked with the Rolling Stones to yield the Black and Blue (1976) cover art", but according to the Rolling Stones Black & Blue page the cover photograph was done by fashion photographer Hiro. There's no actual source for that quote, but it seems to come from the book "Sonic Cool: The Life & Death of Rock 'n' Roll" by Joe S. Harrington, as seen here on books.google.com:

"their second album, Leave Home, featured a cover photo by Moshe Brakha, who'd done the Rolling Stone's Black & Blue".

It seems to me that the author has confused the Rolling Stones album with this LP of the band Black'N'Blue, which does have photography by Moshe Brakha: https://www.discogs.com/release/1855331-Black-N-Blue-Without-Love Petetnt (talk) 14:25, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
