Not a problem, Stan. The 4 tildes do not expand in the preview - this is normal. They expand when you save the article and, just like any edits you do, you can re-edit the page to remove them if you put them in the wrong place. - UtherSRG July 7, 2005 13:10 (UTC)

The taxoboxes here and the taxonavigation on Wikispecies serve similar but not identical purposes. Here, they are designed to give a concise picture of the species/taxon in question: What does it look like, what's its clasification, what are the subdivisions immediately below. Wikispecies's taxonavigation is designed to show the entire classification path, and the subdivisions immediately below.

Hrm... the entire list of primates? I suppose it could be possible... Essentially taking all of the species lists as broken out among the various articles in the project and putting it all togther into one huge list-article. It's certainly doable... but Groves is supercedding himself in the December 2005 edition (3rd ed) of Mammal Species of the World. Heh! An entre list of mammals would be a very long list indeed! There are 4,629 species in the 2nd edition (1993). I'm assuming that there's about 5,000 in the 3rd edition (2005). There were about 4,100 in the first edition (1982). But... I do have an idea using templates so that multiple articles can use subsets of the total set of species, allowing for updates to be done on one template and reflected immediately in all the articles using that template... - UtherSRG July 8, 2005 01:19 (UTC)

Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government.
