Please add your name to this list if you are interested.

  • LockeShocke
  • grm_wnr (caveat: has little time to spare the next few weeks, would rather organize articles than write new content)
  • Amerika
  • Scumbag Signing myself up, but I'll be creating or editing Halo topics as I see fit.
  • Sfackler Sure, I'll help. I added a lot to the Halo 2 article
  • Qjuad I'd like to help if I can.
  • Bonus Onus I've edited a bunch of Halo articles already, and I'm a huge fan of the game, so I'd be happy to do some editing, especially improving grammar and wording and stuff.

Main Project[edit]

The page on Sergeant Johnson was recently moved to Sergeant Johnson (Halo), which just redirects to Halo characters#Avery_Johnson. I changed pages that linked to Sergeant Johnson (Halo) to link to the characters page and now nothing links there, (making Sergeant Johnson (Halo) an orphan). I was about to suggest we move every applicable character link to Halo characters#whoever, but I realized that would orphan a great number of pages.

Is it worth keeping the orphaned pages around just for people who type it in the search box? Who's going to come here and type "Sergeant Johnson (Halo)" - it just seems to me that the would leave off the (Halo). The character pages should be made into redirects if applicable, but I think we should leave off the (Halo) unless there's a real conflict. (Anyone know any other Sergeant Johnsons?)

Or was I wrong in changing the links to bypass the redirects in the first place? Comments, please. LockeShocke 02:01, Nov 30, 2004 (UTC)

I ain't up on all the Wiki technical names for orphans and stuff, but my gut says that people like Sergeant Johnson should redirect to a Halo Character page. So should 'Sergeant Johnson (Halo}'. He's not quite a character to write a ton about. Scumbag 07:31, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)

Other[edit]

Other works in progress[edit]

  • I propose merges: Cov. Weapons => Halo weapons, Cov. vehicles => Halo vehicles --Grm wnr 01:14, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Go get 'em, tiger. LockeShocke 01:42, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
    • List_of_vehicles_in_the_Halo_universe: Finished a first version. Have a look at it before I start to remove the information in the main articles. --Grm wnr 20:14, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Great work, man. Although, I'm still wary about the inclusion of the Shade under the vehicles page. Weapons seems like its proper place to me. Time to get rid of the other pages—Warthog, Banshee—and turn them into redirects. LockeShocke 21:29, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
      • Done. I think Shades are more vehicle than weapon, since all other Weapons are hand-held --Grm wnr 22:24, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • Why does it say that you can get a Warthog with Ardent missiles in Multiplayer? I haven't heard of this. --sfackler 03:51, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)
        • Don't know either. It must have been in one of the articles I merged, since I added absolutely zero new content --Grm wnr 12:57, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
      • Is it a reference to the multiplayer on PC? I know there's a missile version in that, I don't know about "several" missile versions, or an Ardent V. What's an Ardent V anyway? LockeShocke
    • I finished taking the merge notices off the other weapons pages - Covenant weapons and List of weapons in Halo 2 - and made them into redirects. Looks like these two Lists are pretty much done, eh? LockeShocke 00:44, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
  • Delta Halo - plot summary
    • The german Wikipedia has a nice section on Installation 04. Should I translate it? --Grm wnr 01:05, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • Delta Halo is installation 05, 04 is the one from the first game. Unless it's general information about a "Halo," then that would be a good move. LockeShocke 01:42, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
      • I know. I just finished the translation: Installation 04 (Halo). Needs some rework, and possibly expansion. --Grm wnr 01:58, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
      • I did a run through, changed six Halos to seven Halos, etc. Good work. LockeShocke 02:31, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
  • The Ark (Halo) has gotten a few questionable edits recently. Some nameless IP also made a page on Battle of the Ark. (The latter is a case for speedy deletion, I'm afraid.) On the recent Ark edits, this guy posted: Halo 3 will reveal more details about the Ark as the UEN-CFSIASC and Covenant Loyalists... UEN-CFSIASC? What the hell is that, seriously? Is that a joke? LockeShocke 02:21, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
  • MJOLNIR MK5 (Halo) needs Wikifying
  • List of weapons in the Halo universe is over 32 kb in size.
    • Is the scarab gun real? If so, it is missing from the list. --Grm wnr 15:57, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Stubs[edit]

Backburner[edit]

  • 206.255.28.121 - what's up with this guy? I see a lot of edits by him being reverted. LockeShocke 01:08, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)
  • List of Covenant species - including Grunts, Elites, Brutes, Hunters, Drones, Jackals
  • Halo: Combat Evolved should be split up or copyedited down a bit... LockeShocke 21:29, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
      • Backstory needs to go somewhere else (possible Candidates: Halo: The Fall of Reach, Halo (video game series) or my favourite, the as-yet-to-be-written Timeline of the Halo universe), and the in-game story needs to be expanded. --Grm wnr 22:09, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
        • Oh, I hadn't even thought of a backstory page. I especially like the second option, Halo VGS, since I figured that would be a general dumping ground - like you said. Although, is the backstory not general enough? It could go on any of those pages. Let's flip a three-sided coin and see which way it comes up :-) But seriously, folks. I'm afraid a timeline would just repeat everything the pages on the novels say, as well as the pages on Halo 1 and 2. The Timeline could be a dumping ground for all the stories - ie: the Halo 2#Storyline page would have a link to Timeline of the Halo Universe#Halo 2. But what would the pages on the novels have, then? Since the pages on books are usually plot summary and analysis - and the Halo books, I assume, aren't exemplary works of literature and not fit for in-depth analysis - the pages on the novels would be pretty bare. LockeShocke 00:30, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
        • Or, would it work just the reverse, and the Timeline would link to the other pages? That is, on the Timeline you would have a tiny summary of events from a novel or a game and say The events of Halo 2#Storyline take place: [summary]." That would do. LockeShocke 00:30, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
        • I'd do it like this: The first part of the timeline would be the backstory, and everything covered elsewhere would be a short summary of events (1 or 2 sentences), with a link to the main article. That would clarify the chronological order of the games and novels, too. AFAIK, the PLOT of H:FoR ist not the backstory itself... I think I'll try to compose this page tonight. --Grm wnr 20:30, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
        • Where does the content for the backstory come from? I thought all of the "Backstory" was told through the novels. LockeShocke 23:05, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)
        • I think so, too, but it is not the plot of the novels. Anyway, I can't decide what to do. I tried to compile the page, but it didn't really work... --Grm wnr 14:49, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
