Is this the national anthem of Austria? If so, wouldn't it be nice to say so? If not, do we want to post lyrics here? -- Zoe

Who keeps removing the parody lyrics?[edit]

In fact there is a reference for the parody: Fepolinski und Waschlapski auf dem berstenden Stern. Bericht einer unruhigen Jugend. Ibera & Molden, Wien 1997, ISBN 3-900436-42-8. Translation of name / first line[edit]

This article uses 2 different translations for "Land der Berge, Land am Strome". In the first paragraph "Land of the mountains, land on the river", in the lyrics section "Land of mountains, land by the stream". "Strom" literally translates as current, implying a strong and powerful flow of water. "Stream" is definately wrong, as in English that means something less than a river. "Land of mighty rivers" is my personal suggestion, but I am not a certified translator. Is there any official translation that can be referenced? I've changed the translation to "land by the river" since it refers to the vicinity of the land/country to the river Danube. "On the river" would suggest that the country is somehow floating on top of the waters which of course is nonsense... Schmutzman (talk) 12:55, 3 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
