Protected[edit]

Because of the edit warring over the katakana, this page has been full-protected from editing by anyone other than an administrator. Katakana[edit]

Katakana is necessary because this is a Japanese subject, and all Japanese article subjects, regardless of the nature of how their name may or may not be parsed in Japan, has a katakana form that is used to suitably identify the pronunciation in Japanese. Kauffner has been suggesting that by including the katakana form we are apparently implying that the katakana form is predominant in Japan. However, the fact that we clearly state that this subject is known by the name "MISIA" (parsed in all capital letters), this is moot. However, Kauffner still refuses to acknowledge that the concept of a stylized name exists as a means of conforming to the manuals of style which state all caps names are bad, but if it exists that form should be included in the article (similar to "Ke$ha" on Kesha and "P!nk" on Pink (singer)). Nowhere on this page is it implied that "ミーシャ" is the name of the subject. I've attempted multiple times in the past to suggest a different format when "stylized as MISIA" was apparently not reliably sourced, or something was used superfluously as a citation, by using "{{nihongo|Misia|MISIA（ミーシャ）|Mīsha}}" in the lead, but Kauffner objected to this, as well. Kauffner's edits to this page have never been helpful and only insists on returning to the page when he tries to falsely enforce MOS styles that don't exist.—Ryulong (竜龙) 03:25, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As with the Yui (singer) article, I would contend that it is inaccurate and misleading to include a katakana rendering of the subject's name when her name is always written as "Misia" or "MISIA" in Japanese sources. I hope Ryulong can point out where in the MOS it states that this format is desirable, as otherwise, I see no consensus for including it. --DAJF (talk) 09:42, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Got a new one. The line "Misia put out three new releases" under the "Return to BMG Japan: 2007–present" header needs to have quotation marks put around [[Yakusoku no Tsubasa]] and [[Decimo X Anniversario de Misia: The Tour of Misia 2008 Eighth World + The Best DJ Remixes]] needs to be italicized.—Ryulong (竜龙) 23:40, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting birth place claims[edit]

The infobox currently says Misia was born in Ōmura, Nagasaki, while the article text says she was born in Fukuoka. The former is unsourced, and the latter is supported only by the Business Week article that says vaguely that "she hails from Fukuoka". --DAJF (talk) 15:32, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
