Knighted[edit]

I think that before he was ennobled, Palumbo was styled "Sir Peter Palumbo"; but I can't find details of his receiving a knighthood. Does anyone know? -- John Fader (talk · contribs) 19:25, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)

VFD discussion[edit]

This article was listed on VFD - see Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Peter Palumbo.

Three points[edit]

1. Deletion would be silly. The subject plays and has played an important role in the preservation of iconic 20th century buildings, as well as his evidently extensive pro bono work in the UK.

2. It would be good to have a more detailed discussion of his role as a property developer. I assume this is what pays for the other activities. What would a business history look like? The parents were sufficiently well-healed to send him to Eton, but were they rich rich?

3. WP favors up-to-date photographs of article subjects. Which this is not. Nandt1 (talk) 11:12, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As to 2, his father Rudolph Palumbo was very rich indeed. We probably should have an article about him, as he was a major property developer in London in the aftermath of the Second World War. He did have an obituary in the Daily Telegraph (to which I have access), I'll have a sniff about for other sources and see if I can start an article sometime. Thanks, very helpful. On your information I've taken the liberty of identifying his father as a major property developer in the article. Good luck with your own researches! Nandt1 (talk) 13:30, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A Fourth[edit]

No discussion of the legal battle with his children over PP's disputed management of the family trust -- see WP article on son. And please don't tell me to do all the above myself: I am too busy. Nandt1 (talk) 11:18, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

canting arms[edit]

Is it true that his escutcheon – pale + umbo – also alludes to the "monstrous carbuncle"? —Tamfang (talk) 03:58, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
