Everything here can probably be added to the plot summary for the Outsiders. 156.63.85.15 18:55, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. It's a (poor) re-hash of the novel synopsis. Rufous 16:12, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The second paragraph has been re-written to re-focus on Ponyboy as a character, also, don't mistake "heavily summarized" for "poor" --F-451 22:48, 2 August 2006 (UTC) (original author)[reply]

Regardless of the quality of writing, the character of Ponyboy is more than adequately explored in the novel summary. This just repeats the same information. Henchperson 04:24, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who is Brandon I. Jones? this paragraph should either be given its own article, or if he is no one of note, should be removed entirely from wikipedia, either way it does not belong in this article.

Requested move[edit]

Ponyboy Michael CurtisPonyboy Curtis — Should use more common name per WP:NC. From only watching the film, I didn't even know his real name was Michael. —Wknight94 (talk) 14:21, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. As I recall from the book, "Ponyboy" was his real first name, just as "Sodapop" was his brother's. The other given names I believe were middle names; but the unusual monikers were real (altho' I wonder about the reality of registering one's child in the early 1950's under the names "Ponyboy" and "Sodapop".) --SigPig 06:24, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, either Ponyboy Curtis or Michael Curtis and then just mention that his nickname is Ponyboy in the article. Having both in the title isn't right though, IMO. Recury 17:42, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Yes, his real name is Ponyboy Curtis and his middle name is MichaelScreen111 00:30, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been renamed as the result of a move request. Vegaswikian 03:52, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ponyboy lives in Tulsa, not New York. Dallas used to live in New York, so it can't be set there. The movie makes it clear that it was the authors intention that Outsiders be set in her hometown of Tulsa.

The description of C. Thomas Howell does not need to include "sexy". As an encyclopedia, this modifier is unecessary and subjective.

Odd...[edit]

Whenever I revert this, it has some example image placed, and it says I'M IN LOVE WITH CHEESE There, yet it doesn't seem anyone has edited it after the page refreshed from the revert. Someone has been messing with the {{}} things, I think. SBKT 22:45, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Make an article?[edit]

First we had the novel, then the film, then the TV show and now a stage musical. This character is very significant enough across all these portrayals to have an article that maybe we should start one now, especially when reviews of the Broadway production begin to come in that describe how Brody Grant portrays the character on stage compared to C. Thomas Howell in the film and Jay R. Ferguson in the TV show. Same thing should be said about Johnny Cade given that was Ralph Macchio's breakthrough role.
