Split

This article seems to refer to two seperate issues, why not simply split the article and include this information within the two pages. This way reads like a chinese translation. (Neostinker 23:02, 24 July 2006 (UTC))

Content

I've filled the article up with actual content, about half of it translated from the Chinese version of the article. I suggest we also translate zh:華夏族 and add that to this article. I'm not sure why there are two articles in Chinese, zh:華夏 and zh:華夏族. The two articles are short and could be combined. --- Hong Qi Gong 05:32, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

The reason why there are two different articles is that 華夏族 (the tribe) orginated as a much narrower concept than what 華夏 (the generic term) later came to stand for. A merge is not a bad idea though, as long as the differing concepts are made clear.202.20.5.206 12:23, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Corrected the misleading impression that there was a disambiguation to two different articles. The name "Huaxia" as used in both the initial and the later contexts obviously share the same origin. What should be emphasised is the historical fact that "Huaxia" originated as just one out of many ethno-cultural groups in what is now China, even though it now stands for the entire nation.
