What is patent nonsense?[edit]

I suggest giving Wikipedia:Patent nonsense a read, before marking any other articles for speedy deletion. The only criteria for patent nonsense is whether the text is unredeemable jibberish. -- Netoholic @ 03:42, 2004 Sep 25 (UTC)

That was created by an anon IP. Sometimes it is more a matter of the writer not being a strong English speaker. One thing you can do to see if a "random" looking article is related to something else is to use the "What links here" link. -- Netoholic @ 04:04, 2004 Sep 25 (UTC)

It already says so in the file history (Promotional photo - Copyright 2006, The Crüxshadows. Released under the GFDL by The Crüxshadows.) - would you like me to add a separate note on the image page?
So, it looks like this image got deleted. It you can please link me to a (CXS-controlled) place where they indicate it's available under GFDL, or have them call OTRS, I can restore the image. Thanks. --Eyrian 17:58, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

Proposed deletion of Mailinator[edit]

The article Mailinator has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article does not appear notable enough and lack suffice references.

I find a few reliable sources on this and not much beyond a few mentions anywhere else. It is appears to be written from a promotional tone and may have been used as a soapbox. There has been several templates which have been in this article for some time and there appears that no improvements have been made to this article to date.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
