Rearing[edit]

I'd just revert the anon's addition, it's not even in the correct format, and is more about school science than about the beetles themselves. Stan 19:09, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)

mealworm beetles in the wild[edit]

This article is severely lacking for a biology/zoology article. It only discusses the beetles in the context of their use by humans, and, while this is important, it should also contain information on the beetles in a natural setting. Where are they originally from? What do they eat in the wild? --Laryaghat (talk) 21:31, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Today, November 16, 2015, I was watching a mealworm begin its moulting process, looking forward to adding another pupae to my collection. I watched the whole process and to my amazement, nothing appeared! The exoskeleton was left there, but nothing else! I looked through the whole dish of bran, oats and other meal worms, but there was no pupae to be found. Has anyone else experienced this while raising darkling beetles?
