Requested move[edit]

ॐ (Album) → 3 (Soulfly album) – 3 is the real name of the album, ॐ is an alternative reading based on the cover artwork. If my account permitted me to do it, I would change it myself, but I'm not "old" enough. If anyone believes that discussion is necessary instead, go ahead and start it.} The preceding unsigned comment was added by Adam Nohejl (talk • contribs) 19:33, 9 January 2006.

This article has been renamed as the result of a move request. Jonathunder 16:40, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

  • Comment I am tempted to go ahead and move this page now, but because it is potentially controversial, I want to explain why this page move should go ahead. The symbol on the album cover is the symbol Aum, which is currently in the title of this article, in unicode. However, the Soulfly website lists the album as "3"[1] (scroll to the bottom). Amazon also lists this album as "3"[2]. If this page was moved, it would be listed at Three (album), to disambiguate between the other albums title "3", and to conform with the standard, be renamed 3 (Soulfly album). --Lox (t,c) 22:22, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I did much the same research (iTunes Music store also lists the album as 3) and additionaly tried to search for "Soulfly ॐ" on Google - there were only a few results. However I wasn't allowed to rename the page myself as I'm too new to Wikipedia. If someone does it, I'll take care of fixing all the links and adding it to the disambiguation page. I'm quite new to Wikipedia, so thanks for help and tolerance. -- Adam Nohejl 12:24, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • While I appreciate that this page would have been moved without a vote (and rightly so) had your account been old enough, now that it is going through a vote, I don't want to move it without waiting the required five days. If an admin feels strongly about this, they can speed the move across. Otherwise, I will move it on the 14th - by then of course, your account may be old enough to do it yourself! Sorry for the delay, but to ensure that the page doesn't get moved back, I don't want to move it without allowing time for objections --Lox (t,c) 18:10, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
        • OK, I understand, didn't know about the required delay. Thank you, -- Adam Nohejl 23:53, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Hi, I'm the one who moved it to ॐ in the first place. Firstly, I'd like to apologise for moving it without discussion, but it was one of the first things I did on this site and was unaware of correct procedure. Secondly, I've only just noticed this as I took this page off my watchlist a while back. It might have been nice if someone let me know what was going on. :)
Righto, whilst I don't object to the moving to this page (as it does simplify things a bit), what I do object to is the claim that the real title is "3". As Lox said above, The image symbol on the cover is clearly , not only on the front cover, but on the spine, the disc, the inlay (the bit behind the disc) and the centre spread of the booklet, and at no point is it referred to as "3". Whilst the majority of online references name it as "3", this is quite obviously largely just because it's easier to type/read, like shorthand. And whilst there may only be a few Google hits for "Soulfly ॐ", if you search "Soulfly om" you get a couple of hundred, about the same amount that refer to it as "Soulfly three". I know it's still the vast minority, but surely you can see my point (FYI - om seems to be the preferred name on non-english sites).
In summing up, I don't care about the move but would like the description to be changed to something like

"The correct title is " ", but it's often referred to as " 3 " (particularly online) due to technical limitations and to generally make things easier."

And I know it was hard to type in before, but i figured that's the point of redirect pages. ;) MightyMoose22 >Abort, Retry, Fail?_ 12:30, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • And I'll assume that the fact that nobody's replied to this in the past five months mean that there are no objections, so I'm going ahead with it. MightyMoose22 >Abort, Retry, Fail?_ 02:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Symbol[edit]

How is this symbol possible to type on a computer?? Georgia guy 22:30, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Depends on your operating system. If it's capable of hexadecimal Unicode input, the code is 0950 (on Mac OS X for example use Hexadecimal Unicode Input as your keyboard layout and type alt-0950). Or try using the Devanagari keyboard layout -- Adam Nohejl 12:24, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Soulfly3.jpg[edit]

Image:Soulfly3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

  • Reassessment
Article body needs work to conform to Wikipedia's quality standards. The list should be in prose form, for instance. To reach "B" status, "Most readers should feel satisfied by the content, although it may not satisfy more expert readers. There are no obvious omissions, but also no obvious extraneous information—such as "trivia". The article flows well and logically. While a few aspects of content and style may need to be addressed, the article overall complies with tone and content guidelines." Contributors may wish to see WP:ALBUM to get ideas on other topics that could be addressed. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
