P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).

Welcome, Jack![edit]

Impressive chapter of compliments on the Village Pump. Even those of us who haven't been here long can feel pleased at what we are part of.

Your next contribution could be to copy some of your comments to a "User Page" for yourself, where they will give pleasure long after the Village Pump pages are tucked away in the archives. Then that User Page can give us a bit more of your background and can give YOU an easily accessible place for quick links and other things you want to remind yourself of. Of course, you may have already discovered that you have some familiarity with another language that has its own Wikipedia, Welsh, for example. You can cross-refer from each User Page for instant transfer.

Best wishes from the land of the All Blacks! - Robin Patterson 03:41, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Hi[edit]

Hi Jack... welcome to Wikipedia! I saw your comments on the Village Pump, and I'm guessing one of those band pages you mentioned would be for Boards of Canada, which for me too had some fascinating information I'd never heard of before. Hope you can help us write a few pages about some of the more obscure bands John Peel likes to indulge in! --Chopchopwhitey 06:05, 27 Jun 2004 (UTC)
