I think that this subject needs its own article, but the accordion article already deals with the subject very well IMO, so it's not a high priority. Andrewa 01:33, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Maybe sections of the accordion article that are Piano accordion-specific should be brought here and links added there.--Theodore Kloba 12:56, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have already suggested that the accordion page is too cluttered and confusing, and much of the material could be moved here to simplify things. FoolesTroupe (talk) 14:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Content is coming! :D we are restructuring the accordion article as we speak, into a more "component-like" structure that delegates content out into articles like this much more. Necz0r (talk) 21:20, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How Many Keys?[edit]

The caption to the illustration says, in part, "standard 120-bass/41-key piano accordion." However, the accordion illustrated clearly has -44- piano-style keys.

It also has, if I'm viewing correctly, 240 buttons for the left hand. (7 rows of 20 buttons). Perhaps half of these are duplicates, and there are only 120 actual different note and chords available -- not being an accordionist, I can't say.

But I am a pianist, and I can count keys. Suggest that you either find an illustration that only has 41 keys, or change the caption to say "44-key piano accordion." As it stands, it's confusing. Thanks
