Robby Krieger, writer of Light My Fire

Just added that Krieger was the actual writer of the song. He made this very clearly under the production of Oliver Stone´s "The Doors". Many have mistaken Jim Morrison for being the actual writer. It would make sense though since the lyrics seems very Morrison-ish, like it has been taken out of one of his poems. --Albin H-L (talk) 10:29, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Allmusic is having Problems

Hello everyone, Allmusic.com seems to be going through some odd phase right now where some of its information towards albums is incorrect, and I would like some help.

This album, The Doors 1967, is one of the errors on the site. Seems they think it is a compilation album now when it was clearly The Doors' first studio album. I would like those who read this to go to allmusic.com and to The Doors discography and please put this under the corrections to this entry section at the bottom of the page. I feel it's important they have all the RIGHT information as oppose to just ignoring the one voice who is telling them they made a mistake, so the more help I get the better.

The site has also done this to other bands, such as The Beatles and The Velvet Underground. Beatles For Sale (1964) is now missing from The Beatles main album discography as well as many tracks from all their albums. For example, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band has only 3 tracks under the song track list for the album though the duration of the album says 35 minutes...which obviously does not make sense. Like I said, it is like this for all their main studio albums, tracks are missing from the track list which needs to be corrected but once again one voice sayin this is incorrect can only go so far.

Now for The Velvet Underground it's the same thing as The Doors (1967) debut album, The Velvet Underground & Nico (the debut album) and Loaded (their 1970 album) have also been placed in the compilation section when these are both studio albums. Going to these pages on allmusic.com and informing them of these mistakes is essential to what this music stands for, the information about these albums should not remain incorrect. Forever Changes

Dolby NR affecting brighter sound

About 25 years ago while as the engineer for a radio station, I read an article in a technical magazine on the history of the Dolby noise reduction system. It mentioned that the reason why the Doors 1st record has such a bright high end sound is that the Dolby playback settings were accidentally not turned on after the master tapes had been encoded in Dolby. The explanation given was that it was new technology at the time and a secondary recording engineer was not familiar with it. Time-line wise this seems plausible since the 1st commercial version of Dolby came out in 1966 and can alter the high end of the music. Dolby is a 2 part system involving recording in Dolby and decoding it afterward for the sound to be correct. Has anyone found any verification of this? Musical style

"The Doors", Was one of the most defining psychedelic albums of the sixties, but yet there is nothing about the musical style of the album in the compisition section. I request that there be a detailed anaylisis of each song on the album. The Songs "Break On Through (To The Other Side)", "Soul Kitchen", "Light My Fire" and "The End", should be especially be focused on, as i believe these are the most famous songs on the album. Classic albums documentary series

having just watched this documentary on 'The Doors', I note that there are a lot of points mentioned in it that are not covered in this wiki page

The second sentence doesn't seem to make sense

Why this article protected?

I'm not happy that this article is protected. It's supposed to be the free encyclopedia, not un-free. That Wikipedian who put this article in protected mode is a disgrace to Wikipedia, and should be ashamed. I don't like articles being protected and denying us to edit. That's one reason I disliked Wikipedia. Sorry about my criticism, but I don't like articles being fully protected and denying us to edit. I wish they remove the padlock. >:(

Orphaned references in The Doors (album)

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Doors (album)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Missing Song: "Twentieth Century Fox"

I just went thru the track listings, and discovered to my astonishment that there's no article for "Twentieth Century Fox". How is that possible?? It may not rank with their greatest songs, but it sure got a helluva lot of air play; must have charted pretty decently. I hope somebody will take this on.
