Infobox[edit]

Stupid question: The infobox by default opens up REALLY long. I set -show-medals=no but the medals list still shows up by default (at least on my browser). Is there a trick to this I am not aware of? It just makes the article format poorly.

Abuse allegations?[edit]

Didn't Comăneci make allegations that she has been the subject of serious abuse following her defection? JezGrove (talk) 23:09, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No - in fact in her book "Letters to a Young Gymnast" she defends Karolyi. Romanian author Stejarel Olaru in his paper "Nadia si Securitatea" is the one who makes various charges again Karolyi. Ckruschke (talk) 14:33, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In popular culture[edit]

Comăneci has become a pop culture reference in Japan. Following its introduction in Kitano Takeshi's comedy routines, "Comaneci" has become something said while making a "V" shape directed towards the crotch with the hands, typically while performing a wide squat.[1] Takeshi has said that this is a reference to the leotards worn by Comăneci in the Olympics.[2]This has been done by Ichiro Suzuki as a celebration after hitting home runs, and has been referenced in the anime Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono Spin-off Purupurun Sharumu to Asobou. Comaneci has also become the catch phrase of Japanese professional wrestler Tokiko Kirihara.[3] Tresgrumpy (talk) 04:53, 1 January 2022 (UTC)Tresgrumpy[reply]
