Numbers with more than one numerical prefix[edit]

How often is there disagreement on what the best numerical prefix is for a given number?? For example, 50 can be either quinquagin- or semicent-. 66.245.10.24 01:37, 5 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Vfd[edit]

One of the numerical prefixes in this article appears to be on Vfd with a probable consensus to delete. Any opinions on what to do with the links in this article?? Georgia guy 01:37, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • Just change them all to interwiki links to the Wiktionary articles. So, for example, instead of linking to quinque- link to quinque-/quinqu-. (Notice the two-for-one bonus that one gets in this and several other cases by using Wiktionary, incidentally.) Wiktionary has all of these prefixes; and not only is the dictionary the correct place to go to find articles about words, but Wiktionary's articles about these words are better, to boot. (This is not unusual for dictionary entries in the encyclopaedia, in my experience, moreover.) Uncle G 00:21, 2005 Mar 20 (UTC)
