I deleted this:

Dirk Nowitski of the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA was discovered by then Mavericks coach Don Nelson while playing on a street court.
Considering that he played on several German national teams, I find this info highly questionable. -- Zoe

Shouldn't this article be merged with Streetball, considering the similarities in content?

Absolutely not. Streetball, were are talking dunks, , illegal moves, etc. Street basketball, on a wider sphere, is played around the world and by people of all ages. Besides, if you ask me, Street basketball's fundamentals make it closer to the real, professional league basketball. My opinion on streetball and An1 tournaments is, let's see them try to make those dunks against Shaquille O' Neal or the real best of the best!!!!

Antonio Streetball smuckball Martin

It should be merged[edit]

Maybe not TO, but at least WITH streetball. Just look at the descriptions. They're too similar to be two different articles, and they're the same, just with different names. I'm sure it's real confusing for people to see two different articles about playground basketball.

I agree, I should be merged. They are esencially the same thing. Canastad3 12:19, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merge I don't think street basketball is unique enough to warrant its own page. If it's traditional basketball played outside, it would be basketball. If it has relaxed rules and emphasis on showmanship, it would be streetball. I'm sure they can be merged with a tactful explanation of the difference. Garrepi 08:08, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
