Untitled[edit]

It is out of place to state an opinion that 'red man' is politically incorrect and then suggest replacement lyrics without entering a full discussion on why it was politically Correct at the time of writing, and listing all of the relevant facts. Maybe add a new section to discuss. I would not cloud the 3-column comparison with these details.

Modified the article, did not remove the footnote, linked to redskin_(slang), and simplified it to be more objective. 67.41.136.51 (talk) 05:37, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Brewster Higley VI.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Brewster Higley VI.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

More information about the tune's history needed (I don't mean the lyrics' history)[edit]

At least one of the sources gives more information about the tune than is in the article here, and that is needed here.

Speaking of the tune, I discovered a Swedish hymn, copyrighted in 1895, which has a tune remarkably similar to Home on the Range's. The hymn is Fadershjertat står öppet för dig, by Andrew L. Skoog (1856–1934), published in a hymnal entitled Jubelklangen in 1896 (hymn #94). 75.174.102.232 (talk) 03:28, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
