The very nature of them being created by public entities places almost all public documents in the public domain, with some exceptions (such as a state university publishing books, etc). Edwin 08:43, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

This may be an American tradition, although from what I understand Canadian customs in this area are similar. This would lead me to think that this descends from Common Law, but your experience in the Commonwealth of Australia contradicts this. So I'd have to say that I don't really know except that the US and Canada generally share this principle, with some exception. Edwin 08:49, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

When you get to the point where you think you are ready to be an admin, I'd be happy to nominate you. I don't see anything wrong with your work so far. If you keep it up, and explore a little more deeply into the community, I think you would be a fine admin. Please don't take my remarks as anything personal or critical of your work. Response: Please sign your feedback. The term "ALC" was used extensively during the pre-ELCA era. "TALC" is generally only used on charts in order to distinguish the pre-60's ALC from the pre-ELCA ALC that ceased to exist in 1988. Thanks. Edwin

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

Hi Edwin. Thanks for pitching in on the ELCA page! Just a quick question: you changed the part on the ordination of women from saying that the ELCA ordains women "unlike the other Lutheran denominations in the United States" to "unlike most other Lutheran denominations." I'm sure you're right on this, but I'm just curious what other American Lutheran denominations do ordain women. (I know the LCMS, WELS, and ELS don't; but maybe there are some tiny ones that do?) Also I noticed you pulled out the external links to the groups promoting and opposing a more accepting stance on homosexuality. Was that because you thought the groups should get their own wikipedia articles, or did you think the external links were inappropriate for other reasons? Again, thanks for the work on that page. Presbyterian Church USA and Presbyterian Church (USA)

I'm confused by what has happened with Presbyterian Church USA and Presbyterian Church (USA) and how/why the latter article shows it is listed on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion but does not appear on that page, but does have a deletion subpage: Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Presbyterian Church (USA). As near as I can figure, there were cut and paste moves made (which is a bad thing)--but I don't see why it should be listed for deletion. I merge the Reform party of Minn with Indep party of minn because as you know it is the same party except for 5 years (1995-00) it was afflicated with the national reform party the info on the rpm page was basically the same as on the ipm page so it seem unnecessary to have two pages of basically the same info

Response: Please sign your comments. The 'current wife' remark should be stricken as you did, that is indeed better sounding. The age of a person is very appropriate for an encyclopedia entry. A suggestion for your user page

Edwin: I have recently learned that most wikipedia users find it to be in better form to have your user page be written in the first person, rather than thrid person. As you will see, I have recently made that change myself. This is only a suggestion. Also, you can create a simple English version of your user page as well if you wish.
