Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Demish (language)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There were numerous pidgin languages. The factuality of this article, as well as its significance, is in some doubt. Geogre 01:39, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Note that Netoholic removed this nomination. I have reinstated it and will be clear: Google has no hits for this language. Geogre 03:17, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. No evidence. Prank. Mikkalai 03:31, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Some Google hits, but none pertain to a language. Appears to be an invention of the writer. Antandrus 03:56, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. If an actual pidgin like Russonorsk, worth keeping, but as Mikkalai says, no evidence. -- orthogonal 04:25, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: fabrication. See also my comments under Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Eckvic Culture. Wile E. Heresiarch 04:37, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, it's interesting and therefore worthy of being in this encyclopedia! -- Crevaner 09:41, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete , I'd say the writer made it up. There is one google-hit however, for a language called 'Gelack' spoken by the 'Demish population' from some science fiction series, on this site: [1]. That's unrelated, so there is no proof for the existence of Demish.--Fenice 10:11, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete - I found more things about a Debian mirror script than a major language. Also, more things show up about a book called "Origins of Dark Demish by Lynda Williams." Additionally, Google picks this up on several webpages, as a misspelling of "demolish" in a few cases and "diminish" as well as some other odd possiblities. --[[User:Allyunion|AllyUnion (Talk)]] 11:08, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete if no evidence for this language can be found. Average Earthman 19:35, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete — if the author had at least known what IPA is, it might have been minimally credible ... :-) — Timwi 21:04, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete - same as above; not even the "figured Pronunciation" looks credible enough to keep it. - --N-true 21:16, 5 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Unverifiable, probably fabricated. What on Earth is an "indigenous guerilla language"? Gwalla | Talk 01:02, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete Does not appear to exist. Jayjg 03:22, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
