Original research[edit]
The original of this page was adapted from an original web page written by me and first published on my own web site in 1996 or '97. I confirm that I used various sources to obtain my information, including some earlier text I had written up on border clans in the 1980s. I am almost certain that every single sentence would be in my own wording.
That part of another page not only contains similar information but has some sentences that are exactly the same text is no indication that I have lifted it from that site but is an indication of the opposite, though I suspect that www.sprowltek.com probably lifted the information from some other source which was based upon my own work, either of the 1980s or the version I published on the Internet.
I am content that extracts of my work are effectively now in the public domain.

Whether this information is or is not in the public domain is not really the problem. The problem is that this article is about a family history, and that is not the purpose of Wikipedia. RickK 01:40, 8 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Deletion policy discussion[edit]
There is a proposal to create a precedent that names are not encyclopedic. Articles about names regularly show up on various deletion pages and are summarily deleted. Perhaps - since you've been working on an article about a name, you hold a different opinion that you'd like to express.
