  • My personal preference is 4, with redirects from the others. Burgundavia 06:59, Jun 12, 2004 (UTC)
  • 4, of course. But as I focus primarily on airports in Latin America, where little (if any) official information is availible on the airport in question, I generally use 3. DO'Neil 11:32, Jun 12, 2004 (UTC)
  • 4. I end up having to go round changing Changi International Airport to Singapore Changi Airport, but at least it removes a layer of confusion there.
  • The preference should go to how the airport is officially registered by the airport's host country, since that is how it will appear in aeronautical publications, charts, GPS databases, etc. The airport's officially registered name is the same as a person's name on a birth or baptismal certificate, whatever nicknames the airport or person may also have. Only in the case that an airport has no official name in government publications should we start messing around with 1-4 above. Dpm64 20:30, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)
  • It seems that 4 is most widely used, though I'm having doubts when I see things like International Airport Katowice in Pyrzowice on the airport's website. But I don't see anything working better globally. Anyway, List of airports in Poland now contains names as used by respective airport authorities, but I decided not to rename (move) existing articles with no policy to back myself up with. • 4 it seems to be the only reasonable option. With no objections, should this move from being under consideration to a naming convention? Vegaswikian 20:04, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • I came to this page actually looking for an article discussion the naming conventions for airports in general. E.g., the country codes, how names are developed, how the code is developed, etc. In general an article about naming of airports in general, not one about any particular airport.--Seanstoner (talk) 02:50, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
