I went through and cleaned up some errors. nat love was a good person

"Legends of America"[edit]

A website that openly cites Wikipedia (WP:REFLOOP) in articles such as https://www.legendsofamerica.com/african-american-history-united-states/ is extremely unlikely to be a reliable source for a Wikipedia article. I have removed the named reference "legends" from the article and replaced it by {{citation needed}} when no other citation was present. I have also removed the previously-challenged "Nate" pronounciation. The relevant policy is Wikipedia:Verifiability and its sections WP:BURDEN and WP:REFLOOP. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:54, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is basic history class stuff. See BLUE. Maybe they don't teach this in school these days. There are several Hollywood treatments and TV films about the guy. His name was always pronounced "Nate", not "Nat." I can't find anything yet stating why he, or others, spelled his name that way, which really isn't surprising, as people can spell and pronounce their names any way they like. I'm confused as to why his autobiography The Life and Adventures OF NAT LOVE isn't being used as the citation? I specifically remember in his Autobiography that he wrote about bumping into Bat after roping that cannon; Billy when he paid for Bat's drink (I think?); and Pat when saying he worked in El Paso, Texas after the famous shooting. I do lack the book now, so I admit I could be off, and I don't know the pages. I believe the Bat story is after the Deadwood competition, and the part about Billy and Pat were either right before or soon after he began writing about life as a Pullman. The meeting between he and Bat is also documented in Bat's biography Bat Masterson by Richard O'Connor, if my memory's right- again, I don't have access to it right now either.
