Which Duchess is this? Pedant 18:04, 2004 Dec 28 (UTC)

She's a duke's wife; she wasn't created Duchess of Sutherland in her own right. – ugen64 23:19, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Help! I added some material about the duchess's politics, and a source, but now the useful table of Mistresses of the Robes seems to have disappeared. I don't think I deleted it, and certainly did not mean to, but I am new to this... Subtlemouse

You have not deleted it. It has still been there, but it was no longer shown; that was the problem which I fixed.

I have added paragraph (moved from previous incorrect position in article on Duchess who was 3rd Duke's wife, aka Countess of Cromartie) referring to Marx's criticism of her anti-slavery stance on grounds of her mother-in-law's part in Highland Clearances against Gaels, with citation to Marx's article (linked).Cloptonson (talk) 15:15, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed (Other)[edit]

The Marx paragraph labeled "Other" refers to a different woman -- Elizabeth Leveson-Gower, Duchess of Sutherland, who was her mother-in-law. This paragraph should be deleted from this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poluistor~enwiki (talkcontribs) 19:44, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

More of the "Marx paragraph" (in fact dealing with his associate Carlo Cafiero) trimmed.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 11:09, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
