Sister Nivedita[edit]

I am glad that you moved the article on Margaret Noble to Sister Nivedita. Now wikipedians can slowly develop this stub. One suggestion. The quotation title seems to give the first impression that it belongs to Sister Nivedita till one comes to the note underneath. Would it not be more proper to simply change the title to 'Benediction from Vivekananda'? And under Quotation you may add Nivedita's quotations from her own writings. Thanks!

Hello Swami Vimokshananda. I changed the title to Benediction, which is indeed better. I don't really know her works yet, so I'm not able to add quotations to the page. Regards, --Alcidebava 09:49, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Unencyclopedic?[edit]

I find that you have removed A Benediction written to Sister Nivedita considering this inspiring quotation as unencyclopedic. As a matter of academic interest, I would like to know why you felt this was unencyclopedic. Thanks!

Swami Vimokshananda, I think biography articles should primarly focus on aspects like the works and writings of the writers themselves. Writers and authors are very often commenting, praising or critizising other authors and writers. In fact, there are many important writers who have written poems, essays and books about other important writers, whom they also often have known personally and usually such texts are not directly written in encyclopedic articles, but rather commented upon or mentionned under "references". Or also in Wikisource.
I think it would be more encyclopedic to write something about the relationship between Nivedita and Vivekananda and about the work they did together. We could also link to the "benediction" poem. The Sister Nivedita article is still very short, more should be written about her literary works and about her life and activities. At the moment, I'm not able to this however, since I haven't read any of her works yet.
However, I will put the benediction back for the moment, but I think it would be better if it could later be exchanged with some more encyclopedic information about the work of these two people. --Alcidebava 11:36, 7 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alcidebava:
Thanks for support and your confidence in me in my recent RFB nomination. I'm now WP's newest bureaucrat. :) Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 20:18, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
