Merge with Folk Punk[edit]

The genre's are so similar that I feel like a successful merger of the articles could be a good option. If there are no contrary opinions stated within a week, I will probably do it. --Wesborden (talk) 07:57, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond early Billy Bragg, I'd disagree that the genres are that similar. Anti-folk (at least in the U.S. context) is much more one person, one instrument (thinking Roger Manning, Lach, Cindy Lee Berryhill) with a focus on wordplay and lyrical complexity, compared to the broader range of instrumentation of folk punk (thinking particularly of Celtic Punk and Gypsy Punk). Counter argument, Pat the Bunny (musician)'s solo work, AJJ as a soloist, Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace as a solo accoustic act, all of which are known for intense lyricism. --Wesborden (talk) 14:24, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
