Less POV please[edit]

I have changed the paragraph "An intensive Canadian nationalist his opinions have often been criticized, especially his anti-Quebec views. His last book, The Forked Road: Canada, 1939-1957, is a clear example of how out-of-touch he became in later years" as it reflects a objectionable Trudeaupian POV in which anybody who is or was totally 110% for the Liberal Party and Pierre Elliot Trudeau is a racist, bigot and worse. This is not the place for Liberal propaganda. A.S.B.

Someone reinserted this so I removed it today. Luc Pepin 18:13, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If you refer to critics you need to name some otherwise it is a POV expression. Luc Pepin 18:17, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I just completed a copyedit of the article. I find when you do that kind of thing, the POV (and uncited) statements tend to jump out at you. Many of the statements in this article are value-loaded, judgmental, or opinion, although not so far as to raise serious alarm bells. Another good copyedit should help reduce these problems. Another solution would be to include citations for some of the specific criticisms made in the existing article. I see that there are sources included at the end of the article, but none are linked to the crucial statements or opinions in the article. Agent 86 21:54, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Diversification of sources[edit]

The reliance on a single, two-page encyclopedia is unhelpful as well as unacceptable by academic historical standards. A number of cited passages ought to provide reference to Creighton's original published works.--Doug Nesbitt (talk) 01:41, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
