Obviously somebody's ancestor eh. Why is he in Wikipedia but my ancestors aren't? --Wetman 19:43, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Genealogical Corrections[edit]

There are actually two Rrenaud de Courtenays, father and son. The father died in 1190. It is the son who died September 27, 1194 and who was the father of Robert de Courtenay. The father married first Helvis du Donjon and Corbeil and second Maud FitzEdith. The son was born of the father's first marriage. He married at his father's request, Hawise de Curci, daughter of William de Curci. Maud and Hawise had the same mother, Maud d'Avranches, and were thus half sisters. The Wikipedia page on the Feudal Barony of Oakehampton explains the structure of this family in detail.
