About this piece of text: "Duke Nukem 2 was released around the same time, however the game appears to be a hasty upconvert of one which was produced originally in 16-color EGA."

I'm not sure if I'm reading that right. Does the word "one" refer to the original Duke Nukem game? Either way, it seems to imply Duke Nukem 2 utilizes VGA and a 256 colour palette, which it does not; it's just 16 colours (with a different palette for the intro alone). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Retodon8 (talkcontribs) 12:25, 3 June 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Spin-offs / Rip-offs[edit]

Could warrant a mention of engine licensee Onesimus (someone has since done so), Epic feel-alike Xargon and blatant copycat Vinyl Goddess from Mars. (Vixen, on the other hand, appears to be an inspiration to the whole transforming-babe-platformer genre.) It also might be worth mentioning that Jill warranted a level dedicated to her in Epic Pinball! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pseudo Intellectual (talkcontribs) 00:56, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Except that, according to Moby Games, Vixen was released in 1988. It's possible Jill of the Jungle was inspired by Vixen. But then again, it could'a been inspired by any number of other things, movies, TV shows, comics, or otherwise, I guess. ~ Doc Lithius 12:01, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Its worth noting that Xargon was a significant improvement on Jill of the Jungle graphically. At the least, it offered significantly better resolution. MyNameWasTaken (talk) 23:57, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

External link[edit]

Did anyone ever check the first link? When I tried it, it did not work, and apart from that, my virus scanner warned me for a virus in the downloaded file. - Dick Bos (talk) 22:49, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Have you scanned the file with a service like virustotal.com? I just tried it then and it says the file was first scanned in 2009 and there were no viruses then, and still none now. Typically relying on only one virus scanner does not give good results, which is why it is good to scan with a few - VirusTotal scans against (at the time of writing) 54 different virus scanners and they all said the download link was clean. -- Malvineous (talk) 07:28, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
